Here's my latest swap. I'm using Kooks headers, and the provided "dirty dingo" adjustable swap mounts. I tell you, I'm going to use these on EVERY swap from here on out. They fit PERFECTLY! Kooks really nailed these. I believe they're 1 7/8, and they clear factory steering (prob clear aftermarket rack, too.) The mounts have about 3" of adjustment, so you can put the engine wherever you want it. I also attached photos of how I connect the factory fuel hardline to the LS1 rail, and run the power steering lines to the factory box..

Steve, not trying to give you a hard time here, but I think the answers come from lots of reading, research and questioning.
I can't remember how many times someone gave me an explanation which seemed good at the time, but I later realized did not completely apply to my situation.
For example, I bought a Speartech modified harness. John @ Speartech (a shameless plug for our sponsor!) also provides the best customer service that I've experienced anywhere. Some on this board don't require support, but I'm not one of them. So, do you require followup to your product (sh$t happens!), like me, or are you able to wing it and fix whatever you have?
I can see that your project is top end and that you want high quality components!

Default A Hard Time

Hey Guys, I do not take any kind of help as a hard time. I just thought with all the knowledge on here and that I have not seen a true 454 LSX fuel injected 69 Camaro with manual trans on here that instead of working all the bugs out by getting stuff from Jegs or who ever and not needing to send it back like I did with my assy drive system it would be more practical to speak with people in the know. I have a GM muscle car oil pan kit that instead of putting it on and putting on mounts that some say do and some say do not work I am the kinda person that is researching which is the BEST WAY not just the ok way. So my next question is which mounts work best, which trans works best, which injectors and fuel rail set up works best and most of all which wiring and computer that can be tuned with my laptop and a program that can make this thing run like a top works best. Please do not get me wrong I have read alot of stuff on here I just do not like to do things 2 or 3 time to see if it might work and once you put things on and try it, it is hard to return. But again I will never think that I am getting a hard time as I have been a Mechanic for 36 years and I consider myself a good one but just like at my work there are a few of us that are never to good to take some advice from someone else who might have a better way. Thanks alot and have a great day. Steve

67RSCamaroVette, I appreciate all the work you have already done and even more if you update this thread with things you find easier done now with the swap you are currently working on.

I see in section 7, that you set the Fans to come on at 180 degrees and 200 degrees. What temperature did you program for the PCM to shut each of the fans off at?

Hello all, Great form

@67RSCamaroVette

I have a 69 Firebird with a 2 inch drop in the front
I was wondering how you think the dirty dingo adjustable mounts and the Kooks would be on ground clearance?

Thanks

I have a 68 LS3 Went with BRP Hotrods motor mounts, trans mounts
Going with the new Holley pan for this application as it holds more oil
and doesnt hang low like the other options. Dont know about notching your pan.

67 camaro, hooker set back plates, stock F body pan, no cutting of pan. So far everything fits good. Close to the firewall but not "too close" in my opinion.
