Default Time for some update pics

Did some more work to the 1st Gen tonight. My brother has been in town all week so we decided to mock up the engine and then after making sure everything was good, do the final install. The Motor mounts lined up the first time, I was kinda shocked. I kept the solid mounts on it until the turbo kit is finished so nothing moves around during fab-up work. I took a lot of pics this time. Had about 4 hours in tonights work.

Here's some Pickup Tube Modifications and Oil Pan. See this post for before welding pics: https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-swaps/474093-extended-oil-pickup-tube.html

1" Extended Oil Pickup Tube, welded and smoothed
1" Extended Oil Pickup Tube, came out better than expected
Notched Oil Pan, Not pretty but functional (I leak tested it overnight before installing)

On this motor, maybe at most a mild heads/cam setup. I built it stock though for now, we'll see how she likes some boost and then go from there. If it grenades, I'll start building a 402/408ci engine for it. I'm a big fan of stock shortblocks though.

15psi on a stock motor has the potential to be around 600-650rwhp.

that's sweeet. that oil pickup tube came out great, too bad it gets hidden inside the engine. Looks like you're using carshop plates painted black?

Actually those are the Trans-Dapt Plates on it right now, I had to modify the holes in them, but other than enlarging them they fit fine... But after seeing the Hooker Plates I may swap to those to get the motor further back.

I had some help on the pickup tube, I'm not the best welder so I had a buddy from another shop help me out.

I guess I need to pull my pan and tube, and make the cut, darn, where did the headers come from?

Those are SBF Flanged Headers from HP Performance, same guys who built my Mustang turbo kit. I still have to change the header flange over or have them build a set with LS1 flanges, but they will do most of the fabricating from there to finish the kit.
