I originally built my own engine mounts however i ran into some oil pan/steering clearance issues... Since the motor has been out I bought the Street and Performance adaptors and hopefully that will help out the clearance problems when it goes back together

Hey, thanks! Im gonna keep the sleeper look for a while.. I have been running 2 very quiet 3" mufflers with dual 3" exhaust.. and then when i want it loud I use www.not-a-sponsor.net electronic exhaust diverters.


eventually however I would like to go for more of a pro-touring look whenever the $$$ permits.. Like this pic:

Thanks let us know how it works out with the S&P plates as far as clearance issues. Great looking car man I can't wait till my 67 has the LS1 between the frame rails.

Hey thanks guys for all the compliments.. The chevelle originally came with a 283 with a 2 speed powerglide


So what i did was used the factory camaro/firebird clutch and brake pedal assembly..... It did take some modifications and cutting to make it fit, but it actually worked great!

unreal just what i hope to do are 65 chassis same as 1967 ? what model sump oil pickup etc did you use and are motor / swap mount supplyer on web any info is good, hard to find people with knowledge of this swap here in australia

Hey, I am not sure about the 65 to 67 frame comparison.. However i would think they are very similar. The best place to go for information is Street and Performance... www.hotrodlane.cc they know there stuff with these swaps.. The oil pan and pickup tube I modified and TIG welded myself, however Street and Performance will provide this service as well.. The mounts are street and performance as well.. Hope this helps! So is that the clutch pedal assembly from the donor car or an old school camaro pedal setup? How did you go about mounting the clutch master? I have to do this in a couple weeks so I'm trying to figure it out. Have you done you harness yet?

Hey, the pedals came of out the 2000 trans am.. We just made our own bracket and mounted the master right to the firewall... using that pedal assembley kinda locates it for you for the geometry to work correctly. The harness that I used was made by Painless and it worked quite well. Requires a 1998 computer though.. Let me know if you need more info!

I tried to use the S&P mounts on my '67 el camino, but they did not work for me. (They sold for almost as much as i paid for them on ebay though!)

I used the stock f-body accessory drives, and the alternator hit the steering gear box with the S&P mount set up. I was also restricted on the location of the motor/trans as I used the firewall and transmission tunnel out of the '98 camaro donor car and needed the shifter to be in the right spot for the console.
I welded my own mount set up on the frame, and used the camaro motor mounts
