Default O2 Sensor

I need an O2 sensor with longer wires. Any reason I can't find one from another GM vehicle? Do they all work the same? Does anyone know of a particuler part number or model that has a longer wire harness?

Thanks

I use a rear sensor from an ls1 corvette. You can probably find the exact one through a search, but they are really long and work as a front would.

For the front or rear, I know that they make extension harness for the rear. Or you can just add some length to the wires on the engine harness. Just make sure you solder and shrink wrap the wires, and don`t try to extend the wires on the O2 side of the connector they are made of stainless steel or something and virtually impossible to get solder to stick to. If you don`t need to replace the O2`s I wouldn`t, they are pretty expensive.

I found out tonight that solder won't stick to the wire on the sensor side...dammit. What are the chances that the connectors are the same from the corvette rear harness?

Thanks

Do you know if the connector for the o2 sensor is the same for all GM's?

I don`t think it is, I know that the connectors for the front and rear O2 sensors on a truck are different, and neither one matches the connector for rear o2 sensors on an f-body

do an ebay search, ive seen they got extensions there. Or you can splice in a wire yourself to make it longer?

All of the vendors that sell headers sell extensions. You have to use them if you run long tubes. I think they are about $12 or so.

100%. That's what most of the F-body guys with headers use.
