I want to see someone take a riced out civic and figure out some way to make an ls1 work. When i say riced out i mean plywood 3 deck spoiler, taped on body kit, ram air hood, altezza's and a fart can. Then put a cut out on it and run the normal exhaust back to the fart can and try to make it sound as ricey as possible. Take it to the track and wait for peoples faces when you open up the cutout

89-91 rx7. In new jersey..I had two cars at once..and brand new focus that I was paying 3800 a year on insurance...and a 91 rx7...which was 600 a year, both under my name. rx7 only had liability. on average a fc would weight in around 2700 lbs with a ls1 and t 56 in it. You also won't mess up the lamost perfect weight distribution. I'm gonna do that swap in a few years after I get settled into a career.

seriously, the RX7 TII is what you want. Doesn't get much better handling, (mine has a manual rack) and 4 piston front calipers. Not to mention the rear ends are pretty stout. They weigh like 2600-2700 with the LS1, and are a very straight forward swap. Not to mention the aftermarket support for the chassis.

An S-10 would be the easiest and cheapest. Especially if it was a 4.3L before, i believe you can use the same radiator.
RX-7 would be an awesome street machine.
Either way, they've both been done to death.
