I am really considering the ls2 for the obvious reasons. I am a liitle hesitant to spend 5,500 on an engine. Heat disipation and weight are the benefits from an aluminum block, but I am not all together sure that these benefits outweigh the cost.

That sucks that the motor mounts from ls1 performance parts didn't work.
I am using ls1 s10 conversion motor mounts from steve for my truck and they fit fine. He also notched an oil pan for me and it looks and fits great.

I saw that concept truck on the 2005 hot rod power tour and it was awesome! and the motor looked like it set in there very comfortably. they really should build a colorado ss, but i wouldnt expect that from the company that discontinued the camaro...

I have hit a bit of a snag. I have the ls2 oil pan modified and I have the gto bellhousing bolted to the transmission but I can't decide on wich acc. to use. What do you guys think? I priced the cts-v acc, and at 1,200.00 I thought that price was a little steep.
What are my options? What acc. will work with the ls2 water pump? I have plenty of room so the acc. brackets really don't need to hug the engine. Any help would be appreciated.

You can always pull the pulley out a little and run Fbody acc. There was a thread going about the LS2 pump and many people have just pulled the pulley out a little and said it all worked fine. Plus the fbody stuff is alot easier to get ahold of..cause most people need the vette acc. hope that helps the choice some.

Taylor i am very quickly learning that your dealings withe steve hiltner are the extreme exception, not the rule.
I sent him a NEW harness to modify and a pcm to reprogram on may 19th. Last week I received a used harness with busted connectors that was not modified to run my ls2. This after a couple of months of steve saying that "it's just about done" and "I need to live run it before I send it out". This guy has cost me money with nothing to show for my investment. If I can't get the moderators to start a don't buy from steve hiltner sticky, I will open a new website: ls1performance parts sucks.
I sent my harness and pcm to jared at current performance wiring. I have a good feeling about this guy. I am working on the fan shroud, fuel lines and the cts-v acc. have been ordered. I will post some pics for you guys here in the next couple of days.
