Yeah, until he has to file a claim and the insurance company finds out what they've been charging him for is not what he's driving.

It dependes, his liability premium is probably the same for a firebird and a trans am. But for full coverage it is probably a bit more for the TA, and since they are insuring it as a bird they will probably only pay for firebird parts if he has to make a claim, they will not want to pay for the more expensive TA parts since they were not OEM installed parts on that car and he is not paying premiums for the more expensive parts. He could end up with a firebird again.

California did "fix" it. It used to be a 29 year old rolling window. Take this year and subtract 29 from it. Everything that old and more didn't have to be smogged. THEN the politicians got involved (translation: screwed it up) and it's is now 1974 and older, no more rolling window.
