Default Another LT1-LS1 swap here!

Almost completed, just a few little things to do before I can start it up.
Just a bit of info on the setup:

6.0ltr iron block (forged internals)
Hoops Custom ported heads with 'the works'
JoeO. cam (not sure if this is gonna be very streetable 'cos it came straight off our race car when we switched out for a new one) ... hope I dont have to switch back to a smaller one.
Turbo 350

Not much, else 'cos I can't afford it right now with school and such, but I think I have the basics covered. I'm still on the 10-bolt and a stock LS1 intake, but plan on upgrading to a spider style intake and 12-bolt later.

Awesome!

How was the wiring. Did you use an LS1 harness or LT1 harness? I'm just starting the wiring part of the whole deal i'm wondering which is the easier way to go.

Do you mean the engine harness? If you mean the engine harness you have to use the LS1 harness, an LT1 harness does not have connectors for 8 individual coils, it is missing the connector for the second knock sensor, the fuel injector connectors are different, etc...etc... If you tried to use an LT1 harness by the end you would end up switching almost every connector on the harness.

I got a '98 LS1 harness/PCM for mine. Wish I'd gotten a '99+ but that was gonna be a little bit more complicating 'cos I wasn't changing my harnesses on the chassis/interior/dash/etc. I'm not gonna be able to run a super pimp operating system with the '98 PCM/harness but I'll think of upgrading later.
As for the harness, I was going to do it myself but decided to send it out since I didn't have time with my work schedule. Found a place that would do it for 1/2 the price of most other places (that have actually discontinued doing it) and now it's completely plug-n-play to the LT1 car now. Maybe when I switch to a '99+ harness/PCM later, someone will ****** it up real quick!
I was looking at the Harness section here and it offers quite a bit of info on how to do it yourself. If you've got the time and patience to sort through the wiring and have a general idea of wiring and the systems on the car, go for it! PM me if you need more info or any help.

Hey man thanks for the reply and the offer!

And yeah what i've got is the entire 99 setup myself. I ended up with the entire fuse box and wiring through the firewall to the dash and thats where it stops. I looked today and the Lt1 under the dash is a decent ammount different so I figured i'd find a way to just keep the LT1 harness there. Thats where i'm stuck at though. I'm unsure how to go about splicing my LS1 Engine harness into the LT1 stuff.

There is alot of excellent diagrams around so hopefully I can figure out how to get this to work out without messing much up.

It would really help if you had the alldatadiy.com subscriptions for both years. I had that help when I was doing some other swaps/wiring and it saves a bunch of time

If you know how to read electrical diagrams the wiring will be easy, and if you have the alldata subscription for both cars you will have all the diagrams you need.
