Default anyone here flipped the intake manifold?

... to put the throttle body on the back of the engine? I know the factory five GTM guys do it on the vette LS1, want to know if there'd be any issues with the camaro LS1.

It will work on any lsx application. The vette and fbody use the same short block. the main difference is wired tb and different offset, placement of accessories and oil pan + pickup. Are you mounting it backwards for a turbo application or something different?

considering it as option for getting cool air to my air filter. The compartment in front of the engine is so tight, there arent' many options...

see https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-swaps/545849-anyone-tried-filter.html

I thought about flipping my intake and fabbing up a cowl induction setup. However, there isn't enough room behind the engine in my car. The TB would hit the firewall.

I also replied to your other thread.

as you can see in this pic, if I move the battery to the back of the car, and move the PCM to the side, I have plenty of space... (one of the few places in my car that is not allocated for a drivetrain or human body part )

Thanks

It IS a blast - but all I see when I look at it is how much more potential it has

I should have done this BEFORE I had kids, job, etc...

I haven't completed my flipped intake just yet, but the first thing that gets in the way, is the oil pressure sender. Two solutions: One, buy a metric/pipe adapter available from AutoBarn.com (Equus Oil Pressure & Electronic Temperature
Metric Adapter Kit #EQU9848, $5.99) and use a 90 degree elbow to your after market sender, or Two, plug it and tap off the casting just above the oil filter. If space allows, you can switch the valve covers around and retain the stock PCV system routing as well.

Thanks, that's the info I needed. Just last month I got my GM oil sender set up (3 wire from vette) and working properly by having HPTuners read it using the A/C pressure sensor line, so I can see my oil pressure through the touchscreen.

I guess that's what I get for working without a plan

Andy, would the lower profile 3 wire sensor clear the manifold? It's considerably shorter than the camaro pressure sensor.

I have no experience with that sensor. When I get the chance, I'll measure the clearance and let you know....If that will help.

Andy, I took a couple of pics that might help...
The sensor itself will stick out of the block about 1.5", so figure 2" clearance required with the connector.
