I have done some reasearch on this basicly if you want to save on cost fins a donor car. the swap is pretty much sraight forward but that are a lot of little things that will be a pain. just make sure you have everything needed pretty much all the stuff out of the LS1 engine compartment has to go with the motor im pretty sure. But dont quote me on it lol someone else on here probably knows more details.

unless you can get the LS1 stuff cheap, you can go faster for less money and less work by rebuilding the LT1.

even the cheap way. doesnt end up that way. you will still have up to a few grand in odds and ends to get it right.

Post LS-1 block that I don't need

I have just bought an LS-1 aluminum block from E-Bay that I just discovered I don't need. I got it for $300.00. The only problem is that one of the cylinders is messed up and it needs to be resleeved. Other than that, it's good. It has 20,000 miles on it. I decided not to use it because I also got me an LT-1 and I don't want to go through the hassle of modifying everything just for the LS-1. So, if you or anyone you know is interested, let me know. All I'm asking for it is the amount that I bought it for and shipping. I still haven't paid for it yet and it's over there on the east coast in New Jersey. I have a 95' Camaro Z-28 that has a tired engine and I just want to build up the LT-1 block that I'm getting. My e-mail is rokbrigade@hotmail.com

If it's from a C5 then you'd be better off getting an LS1 from an Fbody. That way all your front driven accessories are sure to work inside the tight engine compartment of these 4th gen cars. Plus, if it's a manual, the C5's trans is rear mounted making the swap a PITA IMO.

what i should have said was. even if you get the engine and transmission cheap. you will still have a considerable amount of money in the swap for misc nuts, bolts ,and any other parts that are needed.
