Default fuel regulator?

I'm still not sure if I need to buy a fuel regulator? I have an ls1 from a 2001
Z-28 but I'm not using the Camaro fuel tank. I have the factory pump in the Nova tank. I believe I have a single fuel line system on the engine except for the secound fuel line with a cap that is by the drivers coil paks that is wrapped in foil material. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you
Joe

you def need a fuel regulator and a pump that will provide at least 58 psi of fuel pressure

2nd fuel line might just be vapor return line like I have on my 99. I've got mine hooked up to the vapor canister from the 99 also, and connected it back to the fuel fill tube that's using a non vented cap.

Thanks for the help. What brand did you use for the regulator?

Default regulator

I am using AC Delco #GF822. It is a fuel filter/ regulator used on Vette 99-2002 or ther abouts. I mounted it at the tank so my return is only a couple of feet long.

if it's at the tip of the rail, threaded, that's a fuel pressure port, with a schraeder valve for checking pressure / bleeding off pressure.

Joe Nova - Are you using the 2001 Camaro pump in your Nova tank? If so I think the regulator is part of the pump assembly.

Your second line with foil is the EVAP line. There is a solenoid on the manifold and a short foil wrapped line attached to it. You can actually just leave the solenoid there and remove the line without capping anything, or you can remove the solenoid and cap where it attaches to the manifold.

Actually you can't leave the evap line open if your still hooked up to the computer, which will open the solenoid every so often....

Some systems had the 2 lines with the regulator on the intake, one feed the other return, don't think the newer ones have tho, only know '99 T/A does not

Sure you can. I did and everything works fine. Doesn't the evap line only open up when you shut off the car?

I'm using the electric pump installed in the stock 66 gas tank, with the return in the gas fill neck.

To tell you the truth, I'm not sure exactly when the evap line opens, I only remember reading that it's not timed per se....maybe someone else has more info. In any case, whenever it opens, it still allows gas fumes ,if not gas itself, to be exposed to under hood heat......

How do you figure? Its no different than having the throttle body cracked open. This isn't a fuel line, its a vent line for the tank. And if you don't have it hooked up to the tank, then it is just another opening in the intake.

I'm looking at it like a fuel bowl opening directly into the engine compartment, say if the selonoid sticks open. Having an open throttle body or carburator under your hood without a filter is not really a good idea...just my thought as I have experienced underhood fires. Actually, I'm thinking it's a vent back to the tank to keep fuel vapor emission low, like gas evaporating from a carburator......

Didn't think of it that way. I wil lhave to put a cap on the solenoid just to be safe.
