Default Minimum sensors and electronics to run?

I bought a 6.0 long block for my project and I'm going to use a carb on it for now because it came with absolutely no sensors, wiring or ecm. What is the bare minimum I need to convert to factory EFI in terms of all the sensors? Map, knock, cam and crank, oil pressure, what else?

I found all the wiring harness necessities in the FAQ stickies and I know I need a manifold,tb,pcm, etc.

Zedzag,

You don't need the oil pressure for the engine to run, sensible to have one in for your own use though!

You will also need water temp sender and Intake Air Temp (IAT) sender.

Think that's about it.

I was thinking if I bought a harness with all the emissions and unnecessary stuff removed , it would tell me what sesnsors will need to be purchased and hooked up.

You need:

Crank Position Sensor
Cam Position Sensor
Water Temp Sensor
Intake Air Temperature Sensor
MAP Sensor
Fuel Injectors (8x)
2x O2 Sensors
Idle Air Controller
Throttle Position Sensor
MAF Sensor (unless you tune for speed density)

IAC and TPS are ususally integral to the throttle body. You will also want knock sensors (2x) although I am not sure that they are necessary.

Do the carb setups use any of the stock sensors like crank position?

The most important function of the crank sensor, is engine speed, and sometimes a TDC reference.

Tha cam signal is only for no1 TDC reference for sequential fuel injection.

I would be very doubtful an LS1 would run on its cam signal alone.

If there was more information available on the cam trigger, then it would be possible, but the LS1 doesnt have much info, its all on the crank.
