There are a few people out there doing these swaps, the two most commonly talked about ones are www.vorshlag.com and www.nash8503.com. I do not believe Vorshlag has finished their kit yet, Nash (Mike Collins) had a kit and I purchased some pieces from his e36 conversion kit but I am not 100% positive if he is actively marketing them at this point. Mike's conatact info can be found on his site, and he is generally very prompt with replies.

There was also a Canadian company www.v3auto.com that offered complete kits (for e36 BMW), but their prices were outrageous....and I believe they went out of business.

Great work! I just saw a Z4 coupe yesterday and thought how it would be a sweet car for a LSx transplant. Of coarse I look at many cars that way...

Thanks guys!

The LSx motors are not only lighter than BMW I6's but they also sit further behind the strut towers as well....so balance/handling is improved with this setup!

As far as whether the headers will come out without removing the motor....NO. Neither will the starter, crank sensor, plugs may be doable but take lots of time/patience.... The pan is a stock f-body pan, and I'm using the stock Z3 crossmember with some Nash Motorsport mounts that utilize stock BMW mounting points and bushings (although I upgraded to urethane IE bushings).

I don't have any children, but I don't see a problem with handing one of them over, when I have them, for your car.

great project, keep us posted with pics.

I didn't make the headers...wouldn't even try. Mike Collins of Nash Motorsports deserves the credit!

Very impressive setup, that's the first Z3 conversion I've seen, the M3's are nice too, but I just wish there would be a solid company that would make some kits. Please keep us updated!
