Hooker makes a set to swap an LS1 into a chevelle but they run about $500 and are made to work with the S&P style engine mount adapters. Hope this helps.

I would never use a mount that mounts the engine to one location. Its the same as arranged marriages. I always play with the engine mounts to get the best fit. I guess thats why I like the BRP mounts. Lets you weld the mount into the best possible position. The Hooker headers are great, they even worked on our 70 Olds 442 that has a 4L80E. I thought for sure I would have to trim on the bellhousing but we didn't.

I used the complete frame, engine, and trans mounts from brp. I have about 3/8" of clearance on the alternator, and oil pan, using f-body accessories. All we had to cut out is for the ac but it was ez.

I dont understand why I should have to changer the frame mounts... seems like everybody gets by just fine with the stockers....

Plus I already bought new Energy Suspension SBC mounts for my project.

... Do you have pics of you setup ?

Why cant you move the motor with the other mounts? Any mount allows you to change the location of the frame stand. The oilpan seems to be the restriction on placement, not the style of mount

Everything depends on your goal. I like to use all f-body accessories in the stock location. I also don't want to cut the oil pan. The BRP mounts also work with the Hooker headers. I'm have no experiance with using the stock SBC mounts or frame mounts. I know the S&P plates make you reuse you stock frame mount. I you have those I don't see why you couldn't slide the motor back and weld them into place.
