Anybody have this problem with Lokar tranny dipstick?
Ok. So I was using my original 4l60e tranny dipstick for an LT1 and the tube assembly cracked my heater box(grrrr). I didn't like how it looked so I bought a Lokar 24" firewall mount. So I try to insert the fitting into the just rebuilt Rossler trans and it won't fully seat! What the hell? I would guess that the dipstick would have to seat passed the second o-ring so it would read correctly, no? I can only get it in just before the second o-ring. I put silicone on it, oil and it wont go in any further. Should it seat completely? If so, then I might have to hit it with an some fine grit sand paper. Someone please let me know. Thanks in advance.

I just bought a 24" Lokar trans dipstick for my 2004R and the bottom part of the dipstick housing will not even begin to fit the hole in the transmission. I wonder if it is mispackaged maybe. It is going back. . .

I have one for a 4l80e and it fits really tight. I thought it was wrong as well, but I did get mine to seat all the way. I would give them a call also if it will not seat all the way.

My lokar broke inside the block and I had to jury rig the leftover tube with
silicone. Really pissed me off because I could have gotten by with the stock
dipstick tube but just had to get fancy with the Lokar.
The broken end is now floating around in the pan.
I heard that some of their dipstick tubes were machined wrong and you can get an exchange one.
Might have read that on torquecentral

For anyone who is interested in a stock application that is not as long as the FBody, I picked up a fill tube and dipstick here:
