lt4malibu- Is that water pump doing a decent job for you on the street? Someone told me not to use it on a street car. I'd really like to use that one because of how clean everything is. I want to set up my car like yours, with the BMR mounted alternator and nothing else. Thanks for any input.

Question about your AJE K-member. Did you have to pay alot extra for the LSx mounts? The AJE site shows the k-member for around $250 but then LSx mounts for $1000? Why would I pay $1000 for a set of motor mounts?

the car runs @ 180degrees even during the hottest days. the tech at Meziere told me to run a good aluminum radiator(i have an F-body unit) and good fans.

if i remember correctly, my "kit" from AJE was $800 with mounts and control arms, there is no difference in the SBC and LSx mounts, you just flip the SBC mounts around for the LSx motor.

I think the $1000 kit (MU30) includes more stuff. The MU3030 kit has the k-member and the engine mounts and is only$349. When I talked to them 2 weeks ago he said he was building them to order and was about 2 weeks out.

Thanks for the info. I'm ordering mine next week.

You can also buy different pads to use different motors on that same K-member. I bought the Ford pads too, in case I want to put a SBF back in the car some day. I'm using a really clean 82 GT.

I just got mine last week, and it was *6 weeks* to build it, so plan ahead

so you can use these AJE swap k-members with stock A-arms? the $349 price for kmember and mounts seems appealing to me, and i'm sure others, who want to build a car for dirt cheap.

yes you can , and make your life much easier and get the coilover conversion sleeves that slide on top of your original shocks. much easier to install than the stock springs and ives you hight adjustability.

never knew you could do that. link to these conversion sleeves?

installing the stock spring is a PITA. I all ways unbolted the a-arm, set the spring in it, then used two floor jacks to slowly jack the a-arm back up into position (compressing the spring) then bolt it all together. i never did find a coil spring compressor that would work.

i originally set my car up with Eibach lowering springs and even when the car was all put together the front was 2inches higher than the back so i got those as a temporary solution - theyre a good buy for the price, but theyre kinda noisy(the spring contacts the sleeve) but UPR told me that was "normal"...

some more minor updates:

fabbed up a better air intake this weekend, changed the f-body MAF to a Z06 MAF, 4inch piping with two 90degree elbows, moved the coolant tank to the passenger side and put the airfilter inside the drivers fender.

also upgraded to 42# delphi injectors, NGK TR55's (had the original GM plugs in it) and now it needs to be tuned again so i hope to do that next week.

hopefully with the new(and correct) converter, tune, and cooler weather i'll hit my goal of mid 11's

Is it allowed to move with the engine? Or do you have the engine solid mounted? Can't remember.

Looks good man..I don't see any problem for you hitting mid 11's, as long as it hooks..

engine has very limited movement due to the small poly inserts in the Kmember, i did enlarge the hole a little more so it can move a little.

I got my k-member from AJE and then I ordered the arms, coil-overs, pinto rack, drop spindles, camber caster plates and steering shaft from Racecraft.

The k-member came with mounts and a pinto rack for $349

1990 Mustang LX. I chose the drope spindles because it is a drag car and I wanted the car to sit as low as possible and retain the proper suspension travel. I chose the pinto rack because it has a smaller turn to turn radius(better steering response) and it is lighter.
