I personally think you wasted a bunch of money on the spindles. Only standard use or need of them is for the slight weight loss but only if you have the back fully minitubbed and can put the rear of the car in the weeds and need the front lowered to match.
You dont lose travel lowering the car with standard coilovers with factory spindles. Lowering the front end w/o using droped spindles gives you a lowered stance and increases the amount of distance the front end rises (strut extension). If you use a drop spindle then you don't gain any extra distance only a lowered stance

I never said it loses suspension travel, I said it maintains proper suspension travel.
Considering I have put this setup on several mustangs (all of which have gone 1.2x 60ft's on a 275/60 drag radial, the drop spindle setup works just fine.
We can agree to disagree on this one because I know it was money well spent.
And I am not trying to be a dick, I just have been building Mustangs for a long time and I personally have had cars both ways and the drop spindle cars weight transfer far superior and would 60ft 1/2 tenth to a full tenth better.
My car is not mini-tubbed and this is how it sits on a 275/60 with a 15x10 rim

complete BS. when i lowered my car where the wheel well was just barely over the top of the tire. i only have about 3/4 of an inch down ward travel. so explain how drop spindle are point less. im sorry but when my cars front end is in the air, id like more than 3/4 of and inch of down ward travel before my front end bottoms out
having extra travel up ward should not be needed if your suspension is working!

CARTEK here in NJ tuned it on the dyno a few weeks ago, i gotta go back again after i take care of some other stuff - i need to finish fabbing up the cold air intake, get bigger injectors, a Z06 MAF with intake air temp sensor, install the 2-step and fix my fuel pump situation. im hoping by the end of next week ill be able to go to the track
How is the 2 step going to help without a transbrake?

You set the two step about 500rpm lower than the rpm it's at when the car starts to move.
For example, on the brakes, if you can get the rpm to 3500 before the car starts preloading itself, then set the two step for 3000, it will keep the rpm's at 3000 until you let go of the brake pedal. you can also wire in your two step to the line lock and have a poormans transbrake

since its the new year i figured it was a good time to update this project thread:
the car has exceeded my expectations, i drive it everywhere, it gets great gas mileage, and is consistent! this winter i plan to upgrade some minor things since cash is a little tight, it should really have C-clip eliminators and i have rebuilt the trac-loc diff 3 times(even with the cobra clutches) though its great for driving on the street, i think a locker may be in order. im also considering an anti-roll, but it works everytime on the small radial so i dont wanna mess with it too much.
here it is the night i picked it up:
and today:
aside from the draglites and tailpipes, it looks exactly the same - which was my intended goal

i was gonna try an airbag, but it got cold fast here and all the tracks are closed so its on my to-do list.
Going to try to get mine out of the garage Saturday and make sure the trans. is working ok. So if you get down here in time , you can take the maiden voyage with me...lol
