Yeah, I actually had to beat in the firewall a little on the pass head side. But it does sit pretty close.

I took alot of work reshaping the header tubes on the exhaust port to fit the ls1 flanges. stock 302 exhaust ports are tall and skinny which ls1's are opposite, wide and short. I had to extend 1 tube on the drivers side for my steering shaft which wasn't bad, but my pass side, different story. 1 tube hit the k-member and another tube hit the starter. Had to reposition and extend both tubes. All in all, wasn't REALY hard, just time consuming.

Yeah, I will be switching to braided in the future, just wanted to get it streetable for now. Actually the local 1/8th mile track (texas reaceway @ kennedale) has never made an attempt to inspect any car I have taken, just need a helmet and pants.

wow, i'm a little surprised you used such a small primary size since you were starting from scratch with a new header anyway. no doubt you'd make more power with a larger primary size, but at least your's is running.

I almost went with a set of 1 3/4" 351 swap headers but did not want to chop up a set of $500 headers and screw something up. Since I now know what is needed to make a set fit, later on I am going to go with a larger size primary. I will see what it runs and puts down before I make any more changes.

I figure I could sell the ones I have now for what I paid for them ($130 or so) and turn around and invest it on a new setup.

Coil overs probably don't save a whole bunch, 6-8lbs each side. Mainly weight saving was from tube k-member and control arms.

im doing a 4 door zephyr LMAO with a turbo 5.3 and wanna lighten it up its gonna be a mega sleeper full interior etc and the car only weighs 2730 stock so im hoping with a tubular k member a cell cutting out the spare tire well and filling it with a flat sheet will save some weight ... i dunno what else to do that wont be noticed
