Nice work. I like the Chevy Orange, it'll look great in a detailed engine bay. Keep up the good work and stay safe over there.

Thanks guys on the comments. The tank is a new stock tank with a fuel pump rig from tanks.inc I installed. All together less than 400 bucks and about 3 hours of my time. Much cheaper route than going with custom stainless tank. I woulda like a stainless tank but the wife has me on a budget if you know what I mean. The pan is a stock Camaro pan. It fit perfectly no modding. All the "shiny" up front is from S&P. A little pricey but worth every penny. I bought the set from them last time I was over here in '04-'05. I talked with them about some stuff when I was home and there customer service is amazing. They really do take care of their customers. <---(unpaid advertisement for S&P LOL) Has anyone figured out headers on these with a TCI clip? Any help on this would be appreciated.

more pictures should be in my yahoo photos (hoop_dawg_2000)

Cool!! Talk about a sleeper, if you leave that looking grocery getter stock you will surprise some people for sure. Great work! Like the others said, stay safe and hurry home. Thank you for serving!

as far as headers go you can try what i did. since the engine came from a camaro put the stock exhaust manifold on and see where the the main pipe exits, the headers will follow the same path as the stock. Mine was also a camaro and since the stock had adequate clearance I used camaro headers. The GTO header probably would have fit even better since they sweep back more. The driver side is usualy the toughest since it has to clear the steering column. I have about 1/2" clearance in many areas.

The engine is actually a 5.3 from an '04 Escalade, I just put the Camaro stuff on it. Has anyone tried stock manifolds from a Vette?

I have studied trying to use the stock manifolds but have never been convinced that they would work. The frame rails for the TCI clip set close to the engine and then when you add in the steering on the driver's side it gets tight. I tried 1 set of shorty headers that looked like they would fit from the pictures but they too were too wide to fit.

My only regret on mine is not putting rack-and-pinion steering in like you have and now I am going to fix that. Which one did you use? I have an old thunderbird out back and I was thinkning about trying it for size.

I've tried the stock 99 Camaro / TA manifolds and while the drivers side works the passenger side doesn't(using Heidts clip). Z06 didn't work either. Hedman's / Hooker's ? ...shorties will work, if thats the look you want. I cut and welded my stock passenger side manifold (double wall SS tubing) to fit. This gives a nice quiet apperence in the engine bay....

Pete where was the problem on the passenger side the x member or the frame rail? I have a TCI front clip and looking for some exhaust ideas. Looks like I will go with the shorties if they will work. Thanks,

Jimmy

It ran into the subframe where it mounts to the firewall.
Hooker has a set of long tubes for the 69 Camaro with an LS1, that looks close to fitting, it has the tubes coming down between the last 2 exhaust ports which is where it needs to be, just not sure on the vertical heigth of them however.

Man that's awesome. I was gonna do a 70-73 Camaro conversion in the future, but have been leaning towards a 66 Chevy Nova.

This is just a shot in the dark and may not be worth askin' but what about some LS7 manifolds. Looks like they are oval. . ish. Probly not cost worthy but just a thought.
