Default LS1 into LT1 Fbody Help

Hey guys,
I've search and can't find a difinitive answer, nor thread. I have an LT1 car, that I'm swapping a LS1 in, I have the Motor, Trans, harness, accy's and PCM, K Member. What else do I need to make this conversion work? Will I need a whole different cluster? I have the 97 Digi Cluster. Any help will be appreciated thanks!!

The cluster is different. I know that for a fact, because I performed a dash swap from the 93-96 style camaro to the 97+ style. Only the 97 cluster will work for the LT1s. The tach, speedo, fuel level, and a couple other sensor will not work at all.

We offer a full plug and play wiring harness conversion on the LS1 harness for swaps into LT1 F-bodies. No cluster changes needed. Everything just plugs in and works!

So use your harness, and its a plain OEM drop in correct?

I have a Full LS1 car, with the k member and everthing

You can get the fuel system to hook up pretty easily. Use the LT1 tank and fuel lines. In the engine compartment you will have the feed and return line, hook a vette fuel pressure regulator/filter up to the feed and return from the tank and then hook the output from the vette FPR/filter to the LS1 fuel rail.

Yes, that's correct. You send us a factory LS1 harness and we'll modify it for a full plug and play back into the LT1 car. It's $500 for the mods and includes the correct diagnostic port when needed, etc.

Plug everything in and go!

John is the man at Speartech. I converted a few years back from LT1 to LS1. Sent him my harness, got it back and it was plug and play. Very excellent work. And no guessing. Also I had to change my steering rack to a LS1 style due to placement of the steering shaft. Just my 2 cents

I am making a fiberglass cluster with Autometer gauges for my LS motor swap in my LT1 TA. I will let you know how the whole swap turns out.

Having been involved with two LT1 to LS1 conversions, I would HIGHLY recommend spending the $500 and having John at Speartech make the harness modifications. I spent a year getting everything working properly on my car....not fun.

No I definately plan on having John do it. Already spoke with him about it, waiting his replies on a few questions then it's off to him. Jason, as far as the fuel setup what did you do? The LS1 going into the car is a 98, the car is a 93 LT1 setup. I'm having probs figuring it out, the car is gonna be stock for now mild bolt on. So I don't need to dump a grand in a fuel system for the car to only be stock....

I know this question is for Jason. But on my conversion I just upgraded to a LS1 in tank fuel pump. Since the LS1 requires more fuel press. Then I blocked off the return line since LS1 style cars are returnless.

So you just used your stock LT1 fuel line, that's it to hook it up? Go a lil more in depth because everyone I talk to says I need to spend $500-$1000 on getting the fuel system exchanged to work....

The way I did my fuel delivery. 1. changed my old fuel pump with a LS1 Style fuel pump. What I did was I went down to the local auto parts store and got for a chevy 1500 vortec truck same pump and way cheaper. I think I paid like $80 for the pump. 2. I blocked off my return line right there in the engine bay. 3. I got the fuel line the one with fitting for the intake inside the engine bay off a LS1 car, cut into my line on my car put a connector on it. clamped it down. So now I have the fuel fitting for the LS style intake. That's all I did to get my fuel system working. I stuck a aeromotive fuel pressure regulator on it. But it's not a neccesity.

What style Aeromotive Reg, LS1, or LT1? So you cut the plastic line, got a fitting clamped it onto the plastic line. Then plumbed it to the fuel rails. Do you have some pics? Where in Indiana are you? I'm on the IL/IN border....This sounds like the most promising way...

I wish I could have a 98 LS1 Wrecked somewhere around me, I'd just steal the fuel setup lol....
