Well the motor is toased. I was thinking a 8.1 L but maybe a 6.0 L but i think it will look puney.
So far i thought a 8.1 with a th400. Simple, easy and effective.

Keep in mind the aftermarket as far as modding an 8.1 is extremely limited from what I have seen and what parts they are come at a premium. If you don't plan on modding I would say its a good choice.

I love the gen III & IV motors, but Cadillac has an awesome motor in the old 500 Cu in that would be a direct bolt in for your car. The aftermarket is making some decent performance parts for the big Caddy too. Those motors have just a ton of torque which is what you need to move that big old boat. Surf on over to http://www.mtscadparts.com/ They have a forum with very helpful people. Just offering and old school alternative.

Well I wanna do a fuel Injected motor. Not looking for performance, just turn the key and go. seems to be the best idea. I like the 6.0L with flipped manifolds, But its not practical for what this car is, and whose gonna be driving it.
Ill look up the 1 on ebay and see.

An 8.1L would be a good option in your case then. Performance is a bit pricey on them, but as long as you stay below 4K rpms, you'll be moving like a freight train.
Should mount right up with everything no hissy fits or anything.

You will need an 80... it's not an option really. There's no way possible a 60 could hold up to the torque an 8.1 belts out and the vehicle weight. Sure you could build a 60 to handle it but, I wouldn't trust it. It's a big block torquer, even at just a hair off 1600 rpm, your around 400ft. lbs, and it's a very very flat curve
You might be able to snag a 4L80/85 for around a thousand individually, or pulled completely from a truck with an 8.1 for under 5K, but dont take my word as gold, it's been a while since I've checked prices and I'm going on fuzzy math.
