Default Very upset with results

Went to the track in my Chevelle for the first time today and this is what it produced
60' 2.124
330 5.645
1/8 8.520
mph 86.90
1000 10.969
1/4 13.038
mph 109.37

I was running on normal BFG street tires
My Chevelle is all metal full interior.. I really don't know the weight though..
2000 LS1
TSP 2.5 Heads
Tor 3 Cam
LS6 Intake
ported tb
hooker super comp
Magnaflow 3in stainless
12 bolt posi 4.10
3in alum driveshaft
T56
B&M short throw shifter
Ram clutch HD

thats all I can think of.. My issue is I would have thought that the car would have been in the mid 12's and the mph around 112-115

My old 98 Z28 T56 with the exhaust cut off and 4.10 gears ran a 13.0 at 109-110.. So thats why i'm alittle worried..

PLEASE any input would be great!!!

you cant really compare the '98 Z28 with the chevelle either, since theyre 2 totally different cars with different rear suspensions, but the MPH is the same for both cars. so i dont think you'll really go in the 12's with the traction/60ft issue and the weight unless you change some things. but also consider it is your first time out with the car at the track so you could possibly cut your times with just practice.

I have not been to the strip yet. .but my Chevelle with a Full tank of gas (Impala 23:+ gal) weighted in at 3550, full interior with front Bench seat. I beleive that is in the Camaro weight range.. so.. HP to weight it should be about the same. So.. it may come down to the driver and how the Chevelle hooks up.

the chevelle is going to push more air and slow you a little.th f-body's are alot more areodynamic.
put some slicks on it and get the 60' time down to a 1.8-1.9 and you'll be about .5 seconds faster.

how efficient are you at shifting and did you consistently hit your shift points? what are your shift points?

with a good Drag radial, a 4000+rpm launch, you should definately be hitting 1.6x 60' times, if you have the suspension to allow it. as stated, your 60' is Killing your ET!

I was on street tires.. I babied it off the line and actually just chirped alittle no spinning... You guys are going to kill me for this but for some reason my tach wasn't working so I don't know my shift points. I'm pretty sure it was close to redline though but that could deff be a factor..

You gotta have a tach... I went from running a consistant 14.0x-14.1x with my 350/th350 with no tach, to 13.5x-13.6x with a tach... Just shows you I don't have the ear for it like my Dad does. He drove my car without a tach, and ran a 13.54. My best to date is 13.53 (with the tach). 3.55 open rear end too, now imagine if I had gears and posi.

on street tires doing like you say,"babied it out the hole",if you cant leave at full throttle, the car will never run any good numbers. At the very least get some kind of DOT tires. With some sticky tires, you should be able to leave somewhere around 3500-4000 with a good cleaning of the tires(smoke the **** out of them)Any idea on the hp of the car?

I was told by Texas Speed and Performance that my set up in a camaro went around 400-425 to the wheels and like 390lbs so thats why i'm a bit confused cause this motor should perform like a beast but its not..

If you don't know where you're shifting, and you can't get some real 60' times, you're not going to get anywhere near the true performance of that car. Fix your tach and work on your launches; my FWD GTP can cut sub 2.0 60' times on street tires (actually, I can run quicker then that slip on street tires). Practice, practice, practice. If that doesn't work, spray it.

Exactly! My 60ft times were in the 1.9x zone on street tires, with the 3.55 open diff. Fix the tach, and practice makes perfect; I didn't get good r/t's, and 60fts overnight.
