American Racing TT, M model, black color from the factory.

They are very limited on GM sizes. I actually want to upgrade to 18X10's with a mustang bolt pattern and an adpater, maybe later.

Thanks...yeah I was searching for the black center TT and didn't find much available. I need 5 on 5" for truck pattern. I may end up getting polished wheels off the shelf and having the centers coated.
I just want something black center, 17 or 18, polished lip, that doesn't break the bank.

You can custom order a TT from american racing. I have 18X10 TT w/5" BS on the back of my 69 chevelle w/295-35-18's on them. 18X8's up front.

You cannot custom order this particular model, I have already tried.

I ran into some headers issues while having teh car aligned last night. The passenger side upper control arm hits the header pipe when it is shimmed for caster. I do not know what im going to do about that.

Been here 5 years, leaving in May, sad to leave some really good friends but ready to move back home. Thanx for the compliments, and yes the cow smell is horrible.

I figured out what im going to do about the headers, here's my engineering drawing:

If you look at the control arm bushing it is hitting the header, not good. The fix will be to cut up a $250 S&P header made for this swap and make it work right.

Dooah! I was getting a constant P0200 code, fuel injector circuit voltage low, and the car ran like crap. Well come to find out it was trying to be the first blown LS V-6! I forgot to plug in the #3 and 5 injectors! Runs like a champ now other than some idle tuning required.

If it hasn't been brought up already, for header clearance issues you could shim the motor mounts 1/4" and that should buy you some breathing room. Sounds easier than chopping the header up.

I chopped the header up and it works great now, need to TIG it together tomorrow.

Traction is non-existant for all those who wanted to know. Standby for a burnout video tommorow.

The way it was

Nice job. Once it's done, you won't be able to tell it was tickled.

Here's a video from Sunday.

The revs are limited to 3000rpm so I don't get into boost yet. Open headers make for distorted sound but you get the picture. This thing has got nuts! The tune needs some help and it didn't want to break them loose while the camera was on. Right before we started filming I backed it out and had them lit up for a good part of the street, bouncing off the rev limiter! After that it wasn't having it, i guess its camera shy.

I'm taking it to Texas Speed next month for a dyno tune

Plug yer speakers in, it worked for me...

Just a couple of things with the video - in the beginning, it looked like it said 'Cuttass' instead of 'Cutlass' - is that a function of the font that you used, or just a typo? Also (& this may be just me...) listing little things like the timing set & retainers used MIGHT just be a little bit overkill...

Still, it sounds great, & it's really cool to see it running. Congrats!

I can' t UN-plug my speakers, they' re built-in, I have a laptop.

I can hear it now though, and it sounds good, too bad you have to run an exhaust system on it. I love how an engine sounds with open headers!

Some more progress has been made. lsxyj and I fabbed up the final version of the trans cross member and built some exhaust downpipes out of 2.5" stainless.

I drove it down to Subway and back this morning, the addition of some back pressure seems to have helped a bit with the tune issues. Its going to Texas Speed towards the end of the month for a dyno tune.

Well, today is my birthday. I gave myself an early present on Tuesday and drove the Cutlass to work (35 miles round trip) The first offical drive went exceptionaly well, the only issues are some new 40 yr old car creeks, moans and rattles

I drove it in yesterday and today as well, according to the scangauge it averages 22mpg on the highway, which is better than I expected, I was aiming for 20. The tune is still rough, I went ahead and got HP Tuners and have been slowly working on drivability.

The best part about the car is at low throttle input the car drives like a Cadillac, it is very well behaved and you would not suspect you are sitting in back of 500ish HP. However, when you input 30%+ throttle you start to get an idea of whats in front of you

Out on the highway in OD, converter locked up it spins 2500 rpm. At the slightest, and I mean slightest, hint of throttle input the boost gauge goes from 9 in hg to 1-2psi instantly, absolutley no boost lag.

Tonight the wideband sensors are going in and I can begin doing real tuning. So far I have taken it real easy and to date have not been over 60%TPS and 3psi of boost, in fear of melting a piston. I am very anxious to light the fuse on this thing and go for a ride

As far as the suspension goes, I would have never expected that this car could handle the road the way it does now, it is truly impressive. I can make turns at speeds now that I'm pretty sure would have flipped it before. Oh ya, and brakes, holy cow it actually stops now, and very well at that.

Oh ya, I almost forgot the best part, BLOWER WHINE!
