LS2 in my 01 Trans Am? Hello all,
Thinking of possibly throwing in a LS2 in my 2001 Trans Am (M6 tranny). Would there be any modifications needed to do such a thing? Or would it be a straight swap? Any help and all feedback is greatly appreciated!!

If you go with an older style LS2, like from the 04-05 Vette, or '05-'06 GTO you wouldn't need to do very much, but if you go with one of the newer LS2's, then you are going to have to swap out the computer and wiring, then it all starts to snowball from there.
So an '06 GTO LS2 still has the 24x reluctor wheel..
I have one of these engines out of a GTO I want to swap though
I have not yet been able to look at the crankshaft,
I though I would have to change to crankshaft..

Well, you would need a cable throttle body on the engine, so an aftermarket setup, or putting your LS1 intake on it is step 1.
Next, you'll need to swap the knock sensors on the side of the engine to LS1 sensors, then modify the engine harness to reach them.
Lastly, a computer tune.
As for the question about the '06 GTO engine, yes it is the older 24x.
Easiest way to tell is the crank position sensor above the starter, if it's black, you have a 24x, if it's grey, you have a 58x.
