Porsche 944 LS1

i think it would be awesome...porsche diehards might hate you for it but who cares...shouldnt be too hard either. You'll just have to either find a 86 or later turbo car or get all of the turbo car drivetrain. Even then it may or may not take the power. But it should be ok.

I had an '86 1/2 (non turbo) 944 for a brief time a few years back, stole it for only $1000.00 (car ran ok too) and even considered an LS1 swap for a second or two but I can't do that kind of work myself so I sold it for $3900.00. Sold the extra glass top that it came with separately for $650.00 as well.

might be cool. my friend has a 86 944T with a fair amount of mods from a company called lindsay racing. it pulls all over my other friends modded and charged c5. beautiful car too.

http://www.porschehybrids.com/ has more on the swap.
Did you get the swap parts from Renegade?

They are around 2900 lbs, but you can still remove weight on them.
Do it, I had a 951 all done up, those engines are the most unreliable things I have ever seen in my life, especially when you start getting over 400whp(I know a few people who had engines blow less than 1000 miles post mod). They really were Porsche's "cheap introduction car." and it shows in the drivetrain.
The chassis is pretty bitchin' tho, as are the looks (timeless and simple).
I ran across some thread somewhere on the world wide wibble, where someone is grafting a C5 transaxle on back. How I often would dream of that combo... if only I had the time, and since Quaife finally came out with a lsd for the c5... man... talk about a track monster potential.
