LS1 in a silverado???
LS1 in a silverado??? Im putting my LS1 in a 2001 silverado and was wondering if the computer plugs n the same as on my camaro, or am i going to have to buy a whole wiring harness? Also is this swap going to b an easy one? Thanks in advance!!!

Can't help to ask, but why? At best the LS1 was a 325hp engine. You can buy a 6.0l cheaper and develop more power, and it is a direct plug and play swap, assuming your Silverado had a 4.8 or 5.3 to begin with.
That being said, it depends on what year your LS1 is. I do believe if it is a '99 or later, it should be a plug in affair. The computer will have to be reprogrammed. Another option is to swap the truck intake, coils, and sensors. Then you are using the mechanical bits of the LS1 with the electrical bits of the truck. Again you will have to reprogram the computer. And all this assumes you are starting with a V8 truck to begin with...

The LS1 engine is a 99, and the truck has a 5.3, Im putting a 408 in my camaro so this guy is buying my LS1, we are going to use his upper end of his motor if at all possible, but if its easier to use a LS1 upper end then we will go that route, we got a guy the can do the computer work so thats no big deal!

As long as you use all the truck accys, sensors, and EFI pieces the wiring should just plug in. The truck computer should start and run the motor, but of course for optimum performance it would need to be tuned.
