SatisTraction, I cut the end off of the orig. push rod and welded it onto a treaded sleeve that I bought at Lowe's. The sleeve looks like a 1" long nut with 1/4-20 treads through it.

good deal, you havent missed anything but drama anyway so thats good lol.

I thought I would post another update.....I installed the console over the weekend. With location of the motor useing the AJE k-member, I did not have to mod the shifter one bit. I do not have a factory 5 spd. shifter boot yet, but it will work fine. With the trans in 2nd,4th or 6th gear I have about 3/8 of an inch clearance between the shifter and the console. I am useing a Pro 5.0 shifter btw. I will post a few pics when I can.

I drove the car to work last night. Prob. have 100 miles or so on it now. Everything seems to working out good, no major issues.
I ended up buying and Centerforce DFX clutch. I hope to get it installed this weekend.

Sounds cool,

i am in the process of building a 1990 LX with a 402 LS2, MSD coil packs and nitrous with a carb. drag car only with a turbo400. Car is almost done, engine is done, 800hp with a 150shot. Going to change the heads/cam and try to get 1000hp with a 300shot.
I won't ruin your thread with my pics, so I wil start a thread of my own. Good luck, these engines are fun.

Is there a reason that you see more LX conversions than the GT conversions. I just like the way the 93 GT's look.

I had a saleen convertible I was going to use to do the swap, but a buddy of mine had an lx with a cage already in it, so I decided to build a full blown race car instead of the street car. I traded him for the convertible.
I really didn't want to butcher the vert with a cage and he really wanted my car.
I am going to put a Saleen bumper cover on the front of the new car.

are you just talking about the lx tail lamps as the trim in the middle of a body is different from a gt to an lx so it would look goofy otherwise

I got the clutch installed over the weekend. I must say that the DFX clutch is a good bit stiffer than the stocker.

After lots of thinking....The Weld wheels should be off of the car Friday. I want to get away from the drag race style set-up .I am also converting it over to 5 lug so I can run a set of 2001 Bullitt wheels. I will be using a set of 95 spindles on the front. For the rear I bought a set of 31 spline Moser axles and I am going to use a 31 spline trac lock out of a Explorer.
After X-mas, I am also going to have the factory style tail pipes put back on the car. It's just a little too loud for a driver.

yeah, rub it in..lol I forgot how much I hated the drone.

I really want a set of after market deep dish bullit's or FR500's , but I'm going to run the factory bullitt wheels until I can score some. I'm dieing to mini tub it and tuck a set of 17x10.5' with 315 tires. Maybe a good winter project.....

I'm in the very very early stages of a build like this, as in haven't picked up a motor/trans combo yet. Are you guys buying them complete or piecing them together? IE motor trans wiring harness and comp from one car? If you dont mind me asking how much your paying?

I'm having a hard time finding any for under 3k.. Hell most I've been seeing are almost 4k. Have you got yours going yet? I know you have had it started..Roughly how long has it taken you to do the build..

A friend that works at a big chain salvage yard found mine. I thought I was buying a complete changeover out of a 98 SS. When I went to look at the car (wreaked) it had a 2000 motor in it. The 98 SS had 35k on the odometer. Anyway, I heard the car run and bought it on the spot. I gave $2800 for the complete changeover. I also got the drive shaft, gauge cluster, harness and a few other things.

I can honestly say that if I had it to do over I would have went the 6.0/4l80 route .
