I'm glad you said the 6.0 part. I might be able to pick up a 6.0 and 4l80 for cheap from my work. Its out of a 04-05 truck that was wrecked. I totally forgot about it. I'm thinking I might be able to pick it up for less than 500. Only drawback being that its been outside for a couple years on a pallet under a porch type overhang. Surely I could pick this up and go through it for cheaper than 3k, right? Motor has everything from intake and throttle body to pan accessorys too. No harness though? Any ideas of what harness I would need or could use?

I was originally looking at doing this with a Malibu, but it looks like I'm leaning towards a mustang now.. I had a coupe before and I have always loved the look of the 87-93 coupe mustangs.. Sooooo, I think thats what I'm gonna do..

I'm using a LS1 from a '01 Firehawk and a built Th350. Carburated, no accessories on the motor, etc. Should be pretty simple shouldn't it??

I'm under the impression that all I would need is a AJE kmember with LS1 mounts and take a set of LS1 header flanges and weld them onto a set of 302/351 lonbtube headers. Is there anything else that will need to be changed or modified??

1-QuickT-A ---Yes, The AJE swap K-member is all you need to bolt it up. As far as headers go, I would foot the bill for a set of Kook's. They are 100% drop in. Fighting for hours with the Ford headers is not much fun.

GUS LS1--- I will get more pics asap. I'm still doing the 5 lug swap right now.I have everything I need ,I just have not had any time with X-mas and all.

If you don't mind me asking.. How much was the AJE kmember and the Kooks headers?? I know that buying a set of the Kooks would be much easier, but if they are anywhere near as much for the swap as they are for an Fbody then I'm definitely out on that.. I have a set of stepped Kooks headers on my Z28, but its a race car and really needed a good set of headers..

I have a set of mustang longtubes and we have a plasma cutter and a welder so surely the ls1 flange-mustang header project can't be that hard can it?? lol

Your going to have around $425 in the swap k-member and about $700 in the headers.

Well, thats not too bad.. I thought that I saw the kmember for $349 on AJE's website, but I could be wrong on that. $700 isn't that bad on the kmember, but I'd like to try to make my own headers before I spent that much on the Kooks. I could buy a few other things with that $700 lol!!

I was looking into doing a 350 swap into a fox and started doing some research on aje and i didnt like what i was hearing.... a lot of people aren't happy w/ their work at all i emailed UPR asking if they planned on making a chevy fox k member and they said it should be out in 2 months and their whole front suspension w/ a- arms coil overs and the kmember is around 700 and its all chrome molly ...Pa racing also makes a k member but people seem to have a few fitment issues w/ theirs as well but the weld quality seems a little better by what i have read below are some of the links to what i have been reading:

Alot of people Me included pick chro-mo over mild steel , The whole bs argument about it failing on street cars etc is nothing but a load of BS. I know ALOT of guys who have been running the full UPR front end kits in chro-mo for quite some time now and alot of them are 9-11 second street/strip cars that are always driven to and from the track etc . I bought the UPR kit and LOVE it .

I have the basic AJE K member with SBC mounts and my Ls1 fit in great. I have no complaints at all. But that is my personal opinion. BTW your car looks pretty sic already . I will hopefully have some pics of mine soon, its an 86 coupe. Keep up the good work.

No lt4, they are not on yet. I just finished the 5 lug/rear disc conversion yesterday. I have a few more loose ends I going to try to wrap up today. I'm shooting for next week for the pipes. I did by a Zex high output nitrous system. I'm going to try spray 150 or so through it.

I'm trying my best to get this thing ready for the Pink's All Out the weekend of May 10th. in GA. WOOT! I want to make sure that I will pass tech. without any issuse.
