Default LS1 in place of a LT1. In a Jeep. kinda.

So I ran my LT1 with little to no oil pressure all season. Needless to say the rod bearings are non existant.

I've got a '99 LS1 out of a Z28 with ram air on the way.

I'm going to be swapping to truck accessories. They place everything better and the PS pump can be modified better.

I've been e-mailing the guys at carputing and will probably pick up LS1 edit. I'm tired of getting someone else to do my reprogramming. It's time to learn myself.

I'll keep it fairly stock except for the TB bypass and some other little things.

Here's the questions.

How restrictive are the stock f-body manifolds? They look like they will work perfect for my suspension, but I don't want to be limiting the engine's abitlity. I'll be deleting the rear O2 sensors and running 2 1/2" to a single cross flow Flowmaster 80. Made for f-body's.

Is is realistic and even possible to run a LS7 pan and dry sump oiling?
What are the Part #'s and where is the best place to find them?
I tend to run the engine on it's side a bit. It seems like the only way to get more longevity out of the engine.

More Q's to come as I realize how much work this is going to be.

Here's a pic from a WErock event held up here.

you need to calm down and be patient. There are all kinds of people here that have built trucks jeeps and so forth. Give the gurus some time.

I would answer your questions but I am one that has been getting answers rather than providing them for the most part.

Given that your doing rock crawling id go with the Ls7 setup or FAB up a mount and use a belt driven oil pump setup from moroso, they sell them from summit IIRC that way you can DIY it, Also if your keeping the motor stock just keep the manifolds you should be fine bro

Did anyone notice that the original question was asked back in October? I think he is saying it is all done, and no one responded to help him.
I don't think he is impatient at all, I wish I had seen this one when he first posted though, I'd have offered some thoughts.
Sorry.

Yep, it's in and runs. I went with LS1 edit, because of the price.
Kept the manifolds, but now I wish I bought some full length headers. Major PITA to find stock manifold flanges, I ended buying a whole cat system and cutting them off.

Do tell more about how to adapt the LS7 dry sump stuff to the LS1. I bought a FOA accumulator for the time being.
