car looks good, waiting for parts sucks! but atleast you have plenty of time to disassemble, clean and re-assemble

yeah the motor will be all nice and clean and painted when I put it back together. I have some more wire clean up and then finish the clean up on the engine bay and finish painting it, then install the k member if it ever gets here..Hard to mock up some things with no motor or tranny in the car..

Want to know what is the difference btw 4L60 & 4L80?
I know that 4L80 is for truck but why you chose this gear why not 4L60E!!!

The 4L80E is a lot stronger than the 60, but it's also a lot heavier. I guess you could say, it's a turbo 400 with overdrive. Transgo sells a shift kit for the 80E that will also turn it into a full manual valve body so no electronics are required.

LS1MCSS is correct, but I have decided to run a TH400 instead and have since sold the 4L80..I would have like to have the 80 for the overdrive but, it will only cost me half of what it would cost to rebuild 4L80, over the cheaper Th400..

I love the th400 I run in my car ... I did break it last year but that was due to driver error not the trans fault.

Well not too much has happened lately..Works been slow so, so has the money..K member is in the car and its back on the ground so thats a plus..should be leaving in the next week or two to get the 10pt welded in, torque boxes welded up and hopefully an anti roll bar..I have decided to go carb'd instead of injected, since the car is going to be pretty much just a track car. Will be going with the Vic. Jr. intake and MSD6010 controller. With a proform 850 on top..

Should hopefully be ordering the MSD controller, picking up the intake, the carb, headers, torque converter and getting the trans rebuilt in the next month or two..depending on the flow of things..

Removed some weight from the car, front and rear bumper supports, no longer has the heather or blower box, all the vents behind the dash are gone out also. When I pulled the carpet out I pulled the sound deadening material off, which you wouldn't think weighed all that much, but actually weighed between 10-15lbs all together. Car will have all interior panels, carpet, dash (or whats left of it), center console and one kirky race seat to begin with maybe add another later on..

Wheeled it out of the garage last weekend and gave her a bath..Ha..She was really dusty. Mocked up the radiator and sat the hood on it that will be painted when I'm done with the car. Will post up a few pics tonight..

Well been a long time since I have updated. Got the car to the shop finally after being on a couple months wait in line..Got the car home monday..after them having it for almost a week. Painting that thing sucked.. But got it painted and put the interior back together for the most part minus a few things..Still need to get some gauges and mount my seat and harness for the interior to be complete..Also mounted the new holley HP150 fuel pump and sumped tank.. Running low on cash since work has slowed down again..only need convertor, gauges, and make up my mind on a cam, and then I wil have to put it together..This things is killing me not being finished, but gotta have time and money I guess..I've got the time just no money...Ha..Here's a few pics of the interior...

Oh yeah..I did get the carb, vic jr. intake, seat and cover, fuel pump, and msd controller a couple weeks ago..Like I said only 3 main parts left til I can fully assemble it...Anyone wanna donate $2k to a god cause...Haha it could be a tax write off...

Well once again long time without an update..Well believe it or not the car is almost done..My torque converter will be here tomorrow, a 10" Yank 4000 race converter to go along with the built TH400 and trans brake..And my Vic Jr. Carb intake will be back on Friday since the first one I got ended up being cracked somehow? Other than than just little things left to buy fluids filters and such..

Final Combo will be a 6.0 LQ4 short block, Texas speed 228R cam, 853 casting heads ported very well flowing over 300cfm and milled .048" putting the compression somewhere in the 11.0-12.00 range, Vic Jr. intake with a ProForm 850 on top.

Could have the car completely put together by this weekend but have ran into a clearance issue with the flaming river steering shaft and Kooks 1 7/8 headers. Will be talking to them again and sending them some pics to see about working something out.

Other than that all that will left to do once together is getting everything dialed in and a trip to the shop to be aligned and scaled..Hoping for 2700lbs without driver...

And lastly a few pics to end with..

The set screws helped..allowed me to actually get on the part coming down from the steering wheel but wouldn't fit still..so have some pics to send to kooks tomorrow to see what they say..Hopefully we can get something figured out asap..I've tried just about everything I can think of to get it to fit properly but cant seem to get anything to work..I've had the motor in and out in the last two nights about 3-4 times checking alignment, loosened the k member up trying to make sure I had it as far forward as I could get it..Kinda at a stop really, I could it get running probably but what good would that do me if it won't steer..haha..
