The fuel injection is crisp, smooth, and constant. It starts quickly without all the choke problems. The 455 had more torque and certainly a greater stroke/power band. But I wanted reliability, mpg's, and the computer adjustments when changing elevation. It's a cruiser with 2:73 gears. With the 700R4 in lockup @ 75 mph, it runs 2,000 rpms. So a car that weighs a little less than 4,000 pounds can get over 20 mpg.
I also dicided to modify the existing gas tank instead of having one made. Got a kit with a Walbro 340. The benefit was to retain the 26 gallon tank. Cost a lot to fill up, but it now has an incredible range for about 500 miles on the highway.
Just installed a Dakota Digital tach adapter and it works well. Hadda call the tech line though. It's one of those deals where you have to turn key, holddown a button, dip a switch, count blinking lights, all while standing on one foot with my tongue to one side. But, it works.
