Nice numbers. It's probably a good idea to make a few knock logs just to make sure that the over all timing curve isn't causing knock under certain conditions. Am not saying that 30* is a problem on a stock set-up, it's just good to check under different conditons, and to check the complete timing table against knock under normal driving conditions. Nice job!

I believe its 6 inch ring in the 90-93 cars and 7 inch ring in 94-97. The 7inch can handle about 250wtq. People either put a Ford 7.5, 8.8 or a CTS diff with a V8 swap.

Got the car corner weighed.
With me in the car, 3/4 tank, both tops on:
Front Weight Distribution: 52.3% :-)
Left Weight Distribution: 51%
Cross Weight: 50.2%
Why is this better than what flyin' miata reports with the V8 roadster kit? Well we know my engine is farther forward so it must be the fact that I have more weight in the back, like full-size optima battery, hard top, 6-point roll bar, etc. I do weigh about 100lbs more than them.

So how much did the car weigh total then, if you account the better weight distribution to your car being heaver out back?

Do you know what your Front Roll Couple is? I found that lower than what the Turbo Racing Miata's use works better w/ the V8 Miata.

2656lbs without me.
FRC is at 56.8% according to Fat Cat Motorsports' spreadsheet. Its a little too understeery for me so I am going to the softer setting on my front FM (older verison) swaybar.

I'de really like to get some feedback on the handling because miatas are great canyon carvers.. but the swap has obviously added some weight.

Wow, wish I could have started that low. Mine began @ 66% & can say that the sweet spot seems to be in the 60-64% on my car. Am having a time of it trying to get down there without a rear spring change.

I thought that your initial post said "oversteer," which would have confirmed my 60-64% estimate. Maybe I just read it wrong. Anyway, if you're still understeering @ 56.8%, then I may have to re-think the estimate. So, maybe we're gonna have to approach 50% to get close to an even balance.
My evaluation has been @ high & low speed turns on a road course. Have tested up to 69% & as low as 65%. Have found that full soft on front shock damper setting & full hard on the rear shock dampers does help her turn better. Am glad you chimed in w/ 56.8% not being enough, cuz' I hadn't considered going down that low.
Here's what I've learned about the set up on a road course:
1) Far too much understeer w/ settings noted.
2) Wide front tires are a must. Get as wide as will fit, it superseeds "the unsprung weight," set-up. We need the grip, without it, unsprung weight doesn't mean crap.
3) Body roll is not necessarily a bad thing. You will have better steering success if you let her roll more than in a lower powered Miata @ high speed.
3a) Roll stiffness of 2500 to 2800 in-#/deg is about right. May sound stiff according to the non-V8 set ups, but is about right for us according to my testing.
4) Who knows where the ideal FRC will end up being. Am now considering trying a stock 22mm front sway bar (from your 56.8% post). We will see. Am gonna try a few other things first.
Hope this helps & please make notes about what you have found during testing as things progress.

New video from the Santa Run at little tally. I will have a good high-def in-car video up soon.
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/N...ack_206273.htm
I was really happy with the handling. Very neutral, and quick... I beat a range of cars, factory 5 cobras, mustand cobras, exige, AMG CLK63 black series, stock and modded (one 520whp...) vettes, turbo 350z, ls1 rx7, etc. But much of the time difference was probably driver, many of them appeared to have never seen a track. The one car to beat me was a Modded 08 STi with 300whp/400wtq from Top Speed and one very good driver. My best time was a 66 and his was a 65.4. Next was the Exige i think at 67.
