what did you use for a convertor? did you use the convertors for the regular small block or big block chevy? did it bolt up to the LS1 flywheel or did you have to drill new holes?

Actually, I believe GM makes a special automatic flywheel just for such a connection.

i used stock 98 flexplate, oblong'ed the hole slightly, to a normal 9" th350/400 dual bolt pattern converter. Then i used washers to space between the flexplate and the converter, to keep it from pulling the converter out of the tranny..

GM makes the correct crank flange spacer and longer bolts to do the job right.
Using washers between the torque converter and flexplate causes you to loose your centering register between the crankshaft and the torque converter, which can lead to vibration and trouble.

you sound like you know what your talking about.can i ask a question.i can't seem to find aan answer on this whole web site.i need a total swap for a t56 to a 350 turbo.what exactly would that entail in a 2000 ss camaro.i need to know all the parts and i did'nt know about the fllywheel thing so i got a least one answer thanks.
