All back in and running. Still sounds like a DURAMAX. I've given up on the noise and am accepting it as NORMAL. (if I win the lottery I will build a new motor, again.)
Here's some pics...note the koolcoat on the exhaust manifolds...going to wrap the turbo's and the pipes to the manifolds...

here's the car at aircare...(smog testing)...secret to pass? no charge pipes, stock tune, small injectors, testing for 1971 standards...result? CRAZY LOW NUMBERS = PASS

The one below is a video

Here's the last piece of the plumbing puzzle...top merge pipe from intercoolers to manifold.

Thanks guys!

A bit more done tonight, I made a new fan shroud out of aluminum. Pretty straight forward, had to do a few notches for plumbing and the BOV.

Installed the intake merge pipe and BOV properly for the first time. Fits good. I painted it black but may go back to brushed finish.

Emissions testing. I assume that it runs fairly clean N/A but if it goes into boost ... well ... not so much LOL

I FREAKING LOVE this car. I'm doing a 79 TA but yours makes mine look like poop lol. Why no MAF? It'll run better with it. Did you make those intercoolers?

Yup, to pass emissions testing.

Why no MAF? I will be running upwards of 20psi boost. I don't think the MAF would work out that well, plus, there wasn't much space for me to put one in line.

I started with ebay 12x12x4 cores with 2 1/2" end tanks, I then cut off the tanks and made new ones. Took forever.

Thanks for the kind words. It's been a LONG road. I hope to get to a point really soon where all I do is wash it and enjoy!

Hey mark, Amazing build. Sorry if I am rehashing stuff...but why did you originally yank the procharger off? It sounded like you had a bearing failure but didn't really mention its root cause...

Sorry if I taking this a little off track, sweet TT setup dude!

No worries. I miss shifted from 4th to 3rd instead of 5th on the race track, causing massive over rev. The Pro Charger was spec'ed for a 454 boat motor so the bearings were not intended to spin that fast. It grenaded one of the charger bearings and that was the end of that. It seems that at the same time I guess with the added pressure and heat I damaged one rod bearing, after removing the charger I could here a faint ticking sound that after teardown ended up being a rod bearing. I always wanted the TT anyway, plus the Charger was way to loud for the track I race at. They have a 94db limit.

Increased the boost from 6 pounds to 9 pounds. I don't think I'm gonna need to go to 21 psi. 9 psi, 3rd gear, 2500rpm, mash the gas, you are in the seat hard, front end is getting light, left front corner is twisting up, tires are scrambling for traction... I think my goal of breaking the tires loose at highway speed is going to come sooner than later...

Wow!!! Just read your entire build thread. Your car is amazing and you have a ton of skill. The procharger was nice but the TT part of the build is awesome..... Please post up some #'s when you can, We want to see what that car can put down....

Thanks
