k, cutout done done

I am very impressed with the DMH piece, quality for sure and a 4 year warranty...... obviously i voided that, lol

hate gaskets, only V-bands for this guy

yes i did make another short vid with it now being functional, i am sorry if i post too many vids. I just feel obligated to now since i finally have a good connection!

the fans kick in and out during the vid and kinda goofs up the mic. It is very quiet now with the second muffler though

ok made an in-car vid

7psi and i have a 180lb passenger with me

get into it at about 30mph so i don't spin, hooked well, roads must be warm

remember this is a powerglide, so only 2 gears

get out of it right before the limiter at 7k, (so ~150mph)

cutout is closed

i can jack on one front corner now and three corners come up very easily, never was like that before

DOM material, SW kit that got worked over quite a bit

If you had to do it over again, would you still go with the SW cage kit?
I am getting ready to put the cage in mine. I have the facilities to bend tube if necessary, but most of the pipes look straight. Also Did you bother with subframe connectors?

been driving this alot getting some miles on it, no problems what so ever, so it has been a non stop smile

it will be going to the strip next month to finally get some times

also i have put some power in the car by going from 7psi to 13, it moves

can not hook in low gear with that much but high gear is crazy, I need a two stage controller for the car so i can run ~7psi in low gear and more in high gear when i can hold traction

got it cleaned up and took some pics
no i am not a photographer

Looking good Bro!

The more i look at your car, the more i start to like the body style of the car.

Looks like you had to do some opening up of the front end a little, was that for cooling?

Thanks Kyle, yeah I don't like cooling issues so I made sure I wouldn't, lol

so... made my own camera mount. It means serious business, lol

I would dent the rear 1/4 panel before that cup comes off

made a test vid, turned out rather cool i thought, only would be better with a rocket or something beside me

13psi, great highway surface, MT DRs
.
.
.
.

FYI, anytime it is giving the loud hiss is when i am WOT, So you can tell when i am getting in and out of it in the first hit

I open the cutout when i get into the car, camera is right beside the fuel pump as to why you can hear it so much

first is a hit off idle from a stop...... shows spool and the nature of the converter and glide...... remember this is a 1.76 low gear with a 3.23 rear gear and tight converter

when i slow down i am crusing 65mph till the next hit

second hit it is for a burst in high gear

last is a hit from 45 in low gear and through high..... hooks

I just read through all 7 pages for the first time and WOW! This is such a bad *** build.

When are you taking it to the track again? Sabin Top End Dragways right? I want to be there to watch it run.

Also would you be willing to help me with tuning my project car? 1980 RX7 GS with 5.3 PM me if interested

well depends on what you are up to

if you are staying IRS then yeah alot use the cobra rears or a variant of the IRS 8.8 pumpkin

more so with the FD since there are bolt in cradle setups for the cobra housing

if you are going solid axle 8.8 then the fox body 8.8 is the same width as the FC so it is just right..... the S95+ are all a little wider

my rear is a fox body 8.8 with 9" outers, standard un shortened axle length, 33 spline axles, and a moly spool

it is mounted up in the car with a grannyspeed kit

Thank you for the great reply, i will keep this in mind. Im not sure what im up to at the moment, however, im almost positive im going to start tearing the GTO apart and going back to somewhat stock and making it a driver car.

i did find an FC w/out engine for very cheap here locally, im strongly considering the swap at this moment.

Get a ride in a swapped car before you do anything, to make sure you like it or not.

The nice thing is they are light, and have very large engine bays for ease of work

Def plan on that, i think im going to try to meet up with Nick from Ft. Wayne some time. ive talked with him in the past about it, so shouldnt be too much of a problem.

I doubt ill have any complaints.
