Anyone know how to hook up kickdown tv cable to 700r4 to ls1?
I just finished ls2 conversion into 69 camaro and we reused the race built 700r4 the car had. The problem I have is I need to hook up the kickdown TV cable to the ls1 throttle body.
Anyone know a source on this?

i know the iroc tuned port motors used the same type of throttle deal as the ls1 just on the other side. i wonder if you lookat how those are hooked up you could copy it just opp. sides.
you may just have to drill a hole (in the right spot) and put it the round thingy the tv clips to?

It all depends on what type of throttle body you are running. If it's DBW, you will have hell. You may have to go to a manual valve body. If you have an early(98-99) style body, it's easy. Bowtie Overdrives makes a kit that will work on that throttle body side plate. If you're running an after market throttle body, you have to engineer a mounting point and bracket like I did. Here is a website with the correct geometry, http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/te.../photo_07.html , and that's extremely important. You will also need the TV cable from Lokar. Here is a picture of my setup.

I'm using the iroc tv cable set up. I made an L shaped bracket welded it to the stock tb. There is a throttle cable bracket on the pass. side of the intake that is what I attached the tv cable housing to. My 700r4 works great with my ls1. Good luck

Can you offer up any pics of your setup. I am getting ready to start this swap in m 87 Corvette and the tv cable hook up was a concern of mine. Thanks

I remember reading a post from someone on here that made a hybrid cable--->ETC. He used a conventional cable and ran it through the firewall to a modified ETC contol unit he had cut up from a Corvette or truck pedal. That then controled the throttle body. He had his TV cable hooked up to the cable connection point. I wish I could remember the persons board name. It was done very cleanly and I believe he had cruise control integrated into it.

What's preventing you from connecting this cable alongside the throttle cable at the pedal? That's the way they connected the kickdown cable on my Skylark from the factory.
