your build is awesome. really dig the C5R 427. whats the overdrive ratio in that trans? and tire size your going to run? im interested in getting good mileage too. thats why i dont want 4.11s the other reason is i dont want to have to shift to 2nd before i leave the line.
right now im at the other extreme slipping the clutch like crazy and doing 105 BEFORE the 2nd to 3rd gear shift. 6th is unusable right now. even at 85mph. i think its more like a 2.56

Sorry I don't know trans overdrive ratio.
Stock tire size is 26 inch, I'll stay between 26 - 27. I did try a 305 tire size but will go for a 315 in the rear.
Motor and tranny came out of (Don's) slowhawkperformance 1999 Trans Am race car. I drove the car for 2 weeks before the transplant. At present I'm rebuilding(for the second time) the rear lower control arm to be stronger for hard launches.

finally got the nine inch installed and have been too busy driving to post pics.
i have put on over 1000 miles since my engine swap.
i replaced the open 2.56 Pontiac rear end, no sway bar and factory arms with
Pure muscle adjustable upper and boxed lowers with johnny joints in one end. and upper to lower brace.
Hellwig pro touring rear sway bar
quick performance nine housing with gm ends, cast center section, 3.70 gears, clutch posi trac lock. moser 31 spline axles.
the car hooks up and corners flat. its has so much grip i really have to try to get the back end loose. i can use 6th gear and first gear starts without slipping.
very pleased have put only about 40-50 miles on the nine inch.

I tried the 0-60 on my speedo for the first time. Thinking of the traction issues fatfreegto had I needed to be soft of the throttle to keep it from spinning. I took off with low rpm and still burnt the tires through first and most of second. 5.81 sec 284 ft.

Just read the whole thing, looks real nice!
I like the collapsible shaft that you put in. Someday I will get that in mine, I installed a flaming river collapsible column but I still want the shaft to collapse too.
What seats did you end up going with, saw something about recaro brackets I thought...

yeah the seats i have now are used Recaros with brackets that bolted right into the car. i have 500 bucks in them and i love them. they keep you in the seat and not slidding around on the flat vinyl. very obvious when you have people in the back and take a corner hard. One of my friends he has several 69 GTOs and i took a street corner at 35-40 mph he was bracing for impact. the tires werent even squealing yet. I remember him screaming "your coming in hot!!!" lol and afterwards when he started breathing again he said my cars would of crashed into the curb. with all the pro touring parts on my car im really happy i upgraded the seats.

i did have to grind the front of the mount for the uppers. not a big deal. the BOPs had extra material. so mine looks like a Chevelle frame would. you just grind it to match the shape on the rear of the upper mount.
no doubt it dropped it an inch. the stage 2 plus ball joints drop some height too. i used the spc arms and spc lowering performance springs and i put all the ride height adjustment shims in the lower arm to raise it back up. without the shims its dangerously low. looks cool but wouldn't work on the street. or get on a trailer. that was with stock spindles and 235/75R15s
best part about the lower arms is they relocate the bottom ball joint forward so you can run some good caster angles without rubbing the rear of the fender. and they look cool LOL. Lots of guys leave their lower arms stock and run their 2 plus ball joints.

I love my wheels but i am now thinking i need something wider and stickier. Really nothing out there to recreate the look i want. not alot of options on the stock 15" rim with stock backspacing. I was hopping id be closer to Stealth71's time slip results. my best 1/8th mile time a 8.81 launched at idle to keep wheel spin down. i have video
worst thing about Ice cream cruise was apparently no one new about the "look don't touch" rule at car shows. i have greasy finger prints and spots all over from the smokey diesels running through the parking lot and they aren't coming off.
i think when i do the quarters on it im going to do the car in hot rod black and then clear it with that flat clear coat paint they spray onto cars already clear coated to make it flat. right now its just black primer.
car did excellent on gas i should of recorded the mileage but we started in lincoln. 236 miles on mapquest of the entire trek. from where i filled up to the show in omaha, the 60 mile cruise to the strip pacific juncion and back home. Not included where the 3 passes i made at the strip and all the idling i did waiting in line and the drive back i only burnt half a tank.
