thought i would update i tryed installing a third brake light in my car and took it out before i even wired it up. the only place to put it on a a body car is at the top of the window because the back window to package tray is so narrow the light has to be between the rear speakers to fit and be seen above the bottom of the rear window. the light i have i chose because it is shaped in the GTO emblem shape. it has a taillight function and a brake light function leds. but on brake its too bright and wired to tail light its equal to the stock brake light.
ive decided next step is a new rear bumper, new lenses, and led non sequential tail light bulbs, and new taillight buckets/housings.

the tin pan under the rear axle is also some trouble ive been having... i have had several axle fluid leaks and i finally have them all fixed!!!

started with a pinion seal, and the pinion bearing support bolts. my yoke happened to already had a speedy sleeve installed which really P!ssed me off. the seal i pulled out was hard as a rock.

I didnt get some of the 3rd member studs installed fully and have been fighting leaks around the studs. so i pulled the 3rd member out put new studs in. that the seller supplied free of charge with copper washers under the new nuts.

I wish they could of installed the studs before the shipped them out. im not happy with the way it goes on the studs. it would make axle assembly a lot faster and smoother.

the third member fights going into the housing on the studs. i drilled the holes out on the third member one size larger to help aid in that struggle. My dirt track friend said that's what he does to all of this third members. he also supplied two axle seals that were not included in the original packaging.

so the pan is now staying clean and is still under the car because i cant believe it doesn't leak and i have not found a good place to relocate it.

next on the list while i save for the rear bumper and taillights. im going to make my hideaway headlights functional!!!! i really wanted electric actuators from Ames Performance but at 989.00 seems steep. electric actuators they use are Spal 4 inch actuators that are a 100 bucks each and then you need a 50 dollar controller, wiring, anchor, and make your own mounts.

so the vacuum actuators are 69 bucks each and require allot of hose tubing check valve vacuum canister, headlight switch, hose grommets, on and on. factory setup. so far i figuring around 200 bucks in my own idea.
2 vacuum actuators
hose
new bushing kit (missing and worn out)
1 spring (the one I'm missing)
1 3 way toyota/lexas VSV valve from amazon/summit/local parts store.

my idea is to route vacuum lines to both actuators up side and down sides and T them together and go to the VSV valve then vacuum supply to intake manifold obviously with check valve.

then for the wiring. ground the ground wire. and then tap into marker light power. so when the headlights/taillight markers have power the vsv valve will switch vacuum from actuators vacuum up to vacuum on the down side of the actuator with lights on.

this eliminates the need for expensive pontiac headlight switch. three hoses running inside the the car and back out.

Got the hideaways working With two solenoids and some trail and error.
Friend at work selling ls7 clutch flywheel and pressure plate for $250 has 3,000 miles on it. Was thinking about it what do you think?
but from what I searched on here aftermarket maybe monster clutch sounds like money well spent. No issues with my factory clutch. But from what I've read a tick master cylinder in my future for consistent high rpm shifts. Ive used Center force clutches in the past no problem not sure if that's what I need for the car. Have not heard anyone putting a center force on a Ls engine. What do you think?

RT .704
60' 2.124
330 5.79
best time i ran 8.756 @ 83.69

would like to try slicks and a drive shaft hoop. 1.5hrs away.
would also like to run a standing mile race a hour or so away.
and figure out how to get on the auto cross circuit they have near me.
next thing on the list is a TICK performance master cylinder. having high rpm shifting blues. do any of the sponsors ever sell things with a ls1tech discount?
Also planning this winter to have the TB ported. heard bad things about porting maf so im leaving it alone.

Thanks a bunch man. Wonderful build. Does the Pontiac family proud.

I know you struggled with the Chevelle radiator. I have a big block rad in mine but need a thinner one to accomodate the turbo. Is there anything you would do differently in that area?

I was told that an F-body LT1 rad is a good choice.

I though the Lt and ls Camaro radiators are the same. For mine I probably would get a aluminum Pontiac radiator and hope the fans I have would mount to it. Or find ones that would.

Its been more difficult than I had planned on. I'm using street and performance fbody master mount for 60-70 cars. No issues installing it with a OEM style master cylinder. Wish I would of put the tick in during the build. But trying to switch the masters out was a big problem. Not only do the bolts go into the tick from the bottom or inside on a f body they didn't line up to the holes in my mount. So I had to pull the bracket off which is between the firewall and the booster. enlarge the holes and elongate one so it would bolt on off the car and then reinstall it. I installed it dry and plan to bleed it now its on the car speaking of bleeding the reservoir on the tick is much larger so your stock hose won't work and then your stock reservoir won't work either. Unless you run a big hose and use hose clamps. It also hits my inner fender which I pan to massage to get clearance. I have extra reservoir I plan on using once I figure it where to mount it because it's bigger and mounts differently than the f body one.

I'm using edlebrock headers which I Dont recommend because they hang too low. They are for mounts that move the engine forward and higher. I liked the ti tech coating and the ball style collector. Someday hookers are going on. Then 2.5 pipe to two flow master style mufflers. Probably a cheap knock off they came on the car. And it's dumped in front of the rear axle. Id like to put tail pipes on but with my tank, pro touring sway bar, and control arm braces there isn't allot of room to put pipes over the axles.

ive been looking at a tire and wheel upgrade.

I have been looking at 17x8 fronts or 18x8 fronts with 4.5 backspace.
17x9 or 18x9 with 5.25 backspace.
I think a 9" wheel would fit up front. just thinking in the future if I want to go wider tire than 255 I could. And spending more for the 18 to have more tire sizes and styles. I was thinking 255 front and 275 rear. I have 245/60/15 and 235/60/15 now and they are narrow and short. 26.6 and 26.1"

im leaning toward 275/40R18 and 255/40/18 or 245/45/18

255/50/17

i think need to run at least a 26.5" tire front and rear.

Got the clutch bleed last night and half way adjusted. Can't wait to drive it and try it out. The pedal is way lower than the brake pedal I even adjusted it short as I could with the brake switch as far in as possible. I think I'm going to make a bracket for the brake pedal to make it even. Or a longer brake switch? I'm using my clutch stop I added. Little confused how to adjust the tick master. Instructions and threads about it are a little vague.

A much needed update I got the tick master installed and adjusted. It was really low compared to before. Enough after I adjusted it up some. Now I'm still relearning how to drive it it engages so fast and right off the floor. It only has 4" of movement. Very sensitive pedal and it likes to me shifted fast. Cruising its harder to smoothly shift. Still getting used to it. I've been on vacation and have missed a lot of great days to get the car out. One thing I did was adjust the brake pedal lower to match the height of the clutch pedal. I had plenty of adjustment but my brake switch did not so I made a bracket to bolt in a extra hole in the brake pedal to make the factory brake switch operate correctly again. I wish I would of put the tick in originally. Less headaches. I saw McLeod makes kits now with the fbody angled firewall bracket and a clutch pedal bracket. THAT WOULD BE EXCELLENT. I had many hours designing and fabricating my own clutch pedal bracket. Little late for me. But hopefully this will help the next guy

Finally a wheel and tire upgrade started with two to check fit and getting two more. They can't get here fast enough. 17x9
Front and back

Went with NT05 street tire. More autocross/street style. Maybe try some nt05r in the future but street tires were the sane choice that's where my car is 90%

Finally on the front test drove and test turned with no rubbing during hard corner I did rub once on a steep transition I think I can massage the fender a little bit to fix it. Where the fender trim used to be and is sticking out.
