I used an LT1 radiator and fans, seems to work fine. I just had an extra set laying around.

I also used an LT1 radiator and fans in my 1968 Camaro. Nice setup and cheap to replace.

I fabbed up some radiator mounts and it works great! Good luck.

There's my setup. It fits in there nicely. Like mentioned above, cheap and easy to replace.

Any particular reason to run the LT1 radiator rather than the LS1? I have an LS1 unit, from my donor car, that I've intended to run.

F-Body Radiators

93-96 has 1 3/8" core
97 has 1" core
98-02 has 7/8" core

A lot of us 98-02 guys switch to the LT1 radiator for this reason. Larger cooling capacity, and it fits directly is place of the LS1 radiator.

I never knew the LT1 radiator was bigger to be honest. I'm glad i got mine from a 94 haha. I guess the aluminum block just required less coolant capacity than the iron block.

I'm using the ls1 rad and fans. What about the reverse flow cooling of the
lt1? I thought that its rad would not be compatible.

It's very compatible, almost the same. Just have to block off a fitting at the bottom of the driver's side tank, and (in 98-02 cars w/AC) cut off a small bracket at the bottom of the passenger's side tank.

SLP used to sell a "Heavy Duty" radiator for 98-02s. It was a GM 93-96 radiator with the fitting epoxied shut.

If you're not using a low coolant sensor (98 harness only), you'll have to either put a sensor in there to plug it, or do like I did and put an expansion plug in there. Everyone said my expansion plug wouldn't hold, but it's been holding, leak-free, for 14k miles.

Hey, while we're on the topic of radiators, what is the sensor or whatever it is on the passenger side of my LT1 radiator? It's big and square and looks like it had a two wire connector that's supposed to go into it.

There's really no need to put the PCM inside... it's perfectly weatherproof once it's plugged in. In factory f-bodies, they were always put behind the wheel well, next to the airbox on the passenger's side. If you put it inside the firewall, you'll probably have to extend your harness. Depends on if you wanna go the extra mile for beauty.

I put my computer inside. I had more space inside it seems. I kind of have a different setup as my radio in the glovebox so the computer is behind where the radio used to be.

mine's under the hood on the inner fender, and there is barely room for it--had to relocate it this weekend when I mounted my AC compressor (Sanden SD5H14 w/ kwikperf brackets). I need to redo mine and put it inside somewhere.
