I'd really love to do a big inch twin turbo LSx in my TX-19. Right now though I'm at roughly 1000hp on the bottle, and I'd have to step up to a tunnel to go much faster and be safer. 115-120mph is about all a TX-19 is capable of handling "safely".

Chris,
I deleted egr, evap purge, all of the O2 sensors, all of the auto transmission wires, oil level sensor, air conditioning, MAF (but re-wired in an IAT), oil pressure sensor. It really is a bare bones harness now. Also, I used the stock alternator with an fbody crank pulley and a BMR alternator mount.

The logs are aluminum and are water jacketed. Im not sure how they would hold up to the heat without being cooled.

I think they would hold up fine, as long as the whole weight of the turbo and plumbing is not hanging off of them. That's what I plan to do if I go turbo with mine.

Oh...and a quick update since summer is here

POS. I can't imagine why anyone would put an LSx into a jet boat. Don't you know these things need BIG BLOCK TORQUE? At least that's what I was told when I did my conversion...

Seriously, though - are you running 1 fuel tank or two?

Lol, I heard a bit of the same. It's fun to make people eat their words.

I have one ~15 gallon tank up in the bow.

Yep, I heard it too. Then saw them eat crow with the baby 5.7 LS1 - now with the 383 I hear nothing but crickets.

Anyway, I'm wanting to go back to EFI - but I wasn't sure how to do the fuel system with twin tanks. I'm wondering if I can just Y for the feed and return; or if that's a no-no. The feed and return remote selector is like ~$550.

On a side note - did you modify your own harness; or just buy one? Also, did you keep the factory water temp and oil pressure senders; or is that info the computer doesn't need?

Hate to say it, but Compressor and I are still on the small side of many jets. Both in CI and in HP.

I don't see why you couldn't Y the lines with feed/return to each tank. You could just put $5 ball valves on the lines before the fuel pump to isolate the tanks. I'd love to put a big inch LS motor in mine and pull the BBC out...maybe one of these days.

does it seem to get better fuel economy than before or worse? What was the previous motor?

I'm still working on my '97 Ski Centurion water ski boat with a 5.3 EFI setup, Z06 cam/springs, ported TB.

I did my own harness. There are pics earlier in the thread. The engine needs the water temp sensor, but not the oil pressure sensor. I also got rid of the MAF, and wired in a separate IAT sensor.

Lol. My buddy has a 535 inch BBC in his jet. That motor makes that potato chip fly.

I think it gets better milage....it HAS to. Less motor, and MUCH more efficient and precise fueling, spark, and combustion due to the higher CR. Not to mention it took a couple hundo lbs off the rear of the boat. Plus it idles like a dream, even with a decent sized cam. This swap is a no brainer.
