I've had a heck of a time finding coolant and oil pressure adapter fittings so I could run after market gauges. Just letting everyone know that Speedway Motors stocks both adapters.....They're not those cheap Equuis fittings either. Hopefully this will save someone a headache down the road....

Collant adapter is Autometer Part number 2277. I had to drill out the inside of the adapter to fit their coolant temp prob which i thought was really dumb. It adapts M12x1.5 to 1/8" NPT.

 

i just tapped the passenger side heat to the NPT thread. took 5 minutes and was WAY easy.

used autometer for the oil pressure.

 

What size did you tap it out to? I have to go to 1/2 in NPT to accomodate my temp sender and I'm nervous about hogging the hole out that much.

 

my shallow depth autometer 1/8 npt temp sensor fit fine in the m12 adapter.

 

Autometer does sell a stubby temp sensor that works with their fitting FWIW.

 

Well you see i bought the gauge first from autozone and then bought the adapter and then just drilled out the adapter haha. I didnt know they made a shallow depth sensor though. Good info. While on the topic of gauge anyone know what OHM fuel gauge i will need for a 68 firebird? I see like 3 different options for Ohm roatings for fuel gauges from Autometer and i cant remember what mine is.

according to your web page the part 2278 should be 2268 , the other two are 2277, & 2259. but $12.57 to ship 3 items that fit in the palm of your hand is ridiculous
