the guy said that the motor and tranny were good in it. the intake is unbolted on the car, but it will be out and for sale soon. it has a 700r4 in it. would the tranny be worth keeping or should it go as a package deal and go with a th350?

the car will not see any street time

if youre serious about, carb. u will not need, the intake.
staying n/a with a mild cam like the ls6 will make some nice power.
spend your $ on the conversion, make sure u get the wp, coil packs, and anything else that comes with it, if the trans cost more than 100$. not worth it. unless u plan on going with efi. trans is pcm controlled.
im going with th350. and sbc tq converter. im working on a budget setup
for 3rd gen swappers for acc..
pm if would like more info.
edit: if it comes with a 700r4, it has been swapped to work with lsx.
all auto lsx came with 4l60e type trans.

the car still has the 2.8l in it with the 700r4. i am leaning towards running a th350. I am on a tight budget

Call autometer they will tell you the pn for both. Thats what I did but I cant remember the pn its been a while

Autometer water temp sensor adapter is 2277 you can order it from Autozone, theres a sponsor here that sells a kit with that and the oil pressure sensor for like half the cost. I think its like $7 for just that one adapter though.

hey whats up guys well im in the middle of doint my carb ls1 in my 73 short box

ok if somebody can send me a link to were i can buy the mani an the msd 6010 box i have seen a kit in summit racing but it is not the msd box
please help me out tanks

the 700r4 from the 2.8 will not fit, much smaller bellhousing

i am also using a th350 with sbc 10in tq converter, im using hughes flexplate which is a sbc flexplate with ls crank flange bolt pattern. still need to use 6.0 spacer.

u can however use a 6.0 flexplate with spacer and sbc 10in. tq converter. u will also need the b&m th350 swap for 3rd gen. allows use of stock tq arm, need new driveshaft. but prolly cheeper for u to find tpi 700r4 and use all the hardware, ds, tq arm, etc. will still need flexplate conversion though.

it is going to be a track car only. th350 is the way that i will be going. How much power can you get out of the 5.3's?

275rwhp thru th350 is possible.
