Get a long grade 8 bolt and cut the head off. Then clean up the threads then use a nut/washer. Never tried it but it seems like it would work.

That's what I was thinking of doing at first, but usually a bolt that long isn't fully threaded.

They ordered the stainless rod in for me today. 1 meter was 10.70 with tax.

Mcmaster-carr will have grade 8 studs in the size you need.

I think some people would have trouble removing the wp with studs installed. You might have to remove the rad to get the pump to clear the studs....
