1993 Mustang LSX!!! 5.3 t56 mp t-70
Well since most my car is finally back from paint. I figured i would start my build. Here is a basic run down on the car.
1993 Mustang hatch
stock 5.3 with the exception of a zo6 cam and valvesprings
stock t56 for now until this winter
spec stage 3 and billet steel flywheel
6.0 manifolds flipped and custom turbo kit
Masterpower T-70 turbo
8.8 with 3.73s.
Megasquirt MS1
MSD 6010 to run the ignition.
Here are a few pics of the car with my mock up block and stuff. The block is borrowed from a friend. I know its not straight in the engine bay the mounts are about done and will make it straight.
This is what it looked like before. It also had a 8.5 to 1 331 with a vortech s-trim it put down 465 rwhp and 496 rwtq. Hope the 5.3 can beat that.

I think you'll best your 331 power levels by quite a bit....
You will also more than likely end up needing/wanting a larger turbo for that 6 liter for maximum fun - I mean power levels. ; ) Gonna spool awful quick thats for sure!!

Yeah i have thought of buying a bigger turbo, so when I do go to a 6.0 I want have to upgrade that too.
Hope your right about the power. loved the 331 but it was built with a stock block and was on borrowed time. I can get this going alot cheaper than buying a dart block.

Yes I have to make my own motor mounts. I just about got them done. I took every bit of the ford wiring that ran the 331 out. I won't be running a guage cluster will make a panel to hold the few guages i will run. My megasquirt has like 20 wires you need to run the fuel side of things. Then there will be the wiring for the msd 6010.

I can only hope mine is a 10th the car that thing is. It is an animal. I may switch to a th-400 if the 6 spd doesn't work to well. He has a th-400 thats the only diffrence. That car is my insperation.

depends on the purpos of the car, if it is going to be pure drag car, a 400 would be sweet. if your going to drive it around town more then the t56 would be more fun imo. plus with the t56 you will get much better mpg around town and just add a 2 step for the track.

I think this is how i'm going to mount the regulator and intercooler. Will build a alum. sheet metal scoop to feed air to the intercooler. If there is room to put it there when all said and done.

Is there a reason you're having to lay it flat down there rather than up front?
Get rid of the bumper support or notch the back/bottom of it and that intercooler will fit behind the bumper cover. You could also build a lightweight tubular support and throw that bulky pos away! LOL plenty of air up there for the intercooler and radiator especially if you recess or re-create that support. Hope that helps. I have friends with 31in long by 12in tall and 4in thick cores in the front of these cars.

Main reason is i dont' want to cut up my bumper cover. I had a spearco intercooler kit on my svo that mounted in this same fashion. I will be removing the bumper support i already have the material to make the new one lol. Will mount intercooler behind bumper if i can fit it without cutting the bumpr cover.

Did some messing around today at the junkyard that deals in only mustangs. I think i found a motor mount that will work really well and fairly easy. I'm running a qa1 5.0 tubular k member. A set of 94-95 Mustang v6 motor mounts bolted to the front 2 holes of the block with just reeming out the bolt holes the back one will have to make a plate or weld on the mount. I will get pictures up soon. What are you guys doing to fight the f-body oil pan gettting into the steering rack. I think it will work just have to run a spacer between the motor and the motor mount.
