The bike is more like a pet project.. nothing too serious. I was making pipes for it this weekend. Only put a couple hundred worth of parts into it so far and it's getting near what I want. Once the pipes are done, I'll figure out what to do for a smaller seat and then it'll prettymuch be done.

Bikes are bigger money pits than cars! That is why my car is taking so long to be built.....I ride a Harley! I can put forgelines and nittos on my nova for the same price as the two wheels and tires I want on my hog.

Can't wait to see the new meats on the Nova Joe

Wow.. really? Even considering Forgelines go at what, a grand a corner? What are your ideal hog wheels/tires made out of, gold?? Haha. With tires, pegs, handlebars, lights, signals, and stainless tubing and mufflers I have about $5-600 into it, and all I really have left to customize is make a new, smaller seat. Once this is tweaked and on the road, full attention will be back on the Nova...

You gonna lower that bike? Sitting awfully high! You could also make another rear fender and remove that gigantic brake light. I think the bike is badass like it is but I know you and it wont stay stock appearing long! Prolly a turbo in its future as well.

Not sure.. keep in mind that it's leaning on the kickstand a fair bit so the front is unweighted maybe an inch, and then front+rear sags another 1-1.5inch once I sit on it. I think it's pretty good as is, but will see as I remove even more weight. As for as stock old jap bikes go, these seem to be pretty low from the factory with not-slack fork angles and not a ton of fork stanchion showing. The 80's Kawi and Suzuki bikes, even the later Yamaha's are very slack and have a ton of fork showing so they end up looking really high.

I enjoy following your builds whether they are LS related or not! You never know when something might be useful somewhere else. I say stay the course.

I like torq thrust wheels and I found some for my harley that look like torq thrusts made by foose (mht). They are $2500 apiece! A 21 inch front spoke wheel for my road king is over a grand plus the tire. Not to mention a wider rear wheel.

I am all for the bike stuff....keep it coming.

And they are black with red stitching to match my steering wheel and gauges.. haha. Anyways, a little mockup just to tease myself with what the interior will look like...

Anymore info on the seats? Is there any type of labelling on them on the back or bottom that might say where they are from? I've been looking for decent suede style seats for a while. I figured leather would be a nightmare in the summer if I didn't have AC, and most cloth seats look and feel cheap unless they are OEM. I'm trying to find some black ones in a more plush material than cloth, but I could probably do without the red stitching since nothing in my car is red.

The only ones I can find comparable to yours are these, and I'm definitely not a fan of the ribbed back:

Hey, sorry but I don't have any more info on the seats.. they're no-name China knockoffs and I got them from a guy on a local car forum that got them from a guy years previous who.. blah blah blah, long story short I don't think I'd be able to trace their origins. Those ones you posted are quite similar, but I see what you mean about the "ribs" or panels on the backs.. I'll post a pic of mine on the forum and see if anybody can recognize them!

If you're looking for cheap seats, Ciphers are pretty good for the price. A buddy has 'em in his 68 Camaro and loves 'em (pic 1; pic 2). I gotta say I really like Joe's seats though.

Now, if you want something nice, I highly recommend Corbeau GTSIIs (pic 1; pic 2)

Man I like those ciphers for the price and the cloth should hold up a bit better than the ebay suede. Sorry for the hijack
