After 2 years in the making... IT RUNS!!!
After building this thing for about 2 years, I finally starter it up tonight.
Little background: 91 S10 RCSB 2wd, LS6, ported heads, MS4 cam, HS RR, 3k stall, 700R4, Ford 8.8, and much more
I primed it before I started it, then I pluged in the coil packs and it fired right up!!! I was in shock!!
I got video but the quality really sucks.
It sounded great, open shorty headers lol. MS4 Cam sounded mean as hell.
Couple of concerns though:
1. The engine, especially the heads seemed super hot to the touch hotter then a normal Gen III or IV, but my gauge said 160 degrees.
2. After it got warm enough, it didnt want to idle and would quit, Im guessing because of the cam and the o2 sensors are not hooked up because the exhaust isnt on yet.
3. The autometer tach was acting weird bouncing all over the place and the lights on the radio where flickering, and the lights on the speedo and fuel gauge didnt work but the lights on the rest of the gauges worked.
I should have most of the exhaust on by the end of the weekend, with the o2's hooked up.

That looks like a cool project, I'm too tall to drive a standard cab S10 comfortably (my knees start to hurt pretty bad) so I'd have to use an extended cab...but thats looks like you're going to have a lot of fun with it really soon.

And I dumped over 3 gallons of coolant in the radiator yesterday, Im not sure on the total capacity of the block and stock s10 radiator.

I didnt see any on the gauge. I was told I would if I cranked it long enough. I cranked it about 3 times each about 5-6 seconds, and saw nothing. I pluged them back in and it fired right up and got oil pressure in less then a second.

I've always liked S-10s, especially the older square ones. I had a couple (sadly not w LS1 power), great trucks.
As far as your autometer tach issue, it has been covered before.
