Nice project. I'm right here in Greenville SC. Curious to where you got your drive shaft and headers coated. I'm looking for a coupe right now to start a similar build.

I put my engine into a 2000gt using the AJE kmember

For giggles I put on rthe truck pan and it was about 4 inches off the ground... way to low for my liking.

I ended up using the f-body pan and I am very pleased!!

BlackTA96, lol This heap will never be finished....I change my mind more than my underwear.

As of right now, I just dropped the motor back into the car this past weekend. I changed over to a Powerglide with a manual VB and trans brake. I am also in the middle of going back to EFI and fabbing up the hot side for the Borg Warner S472 Turbo.

sum guy ,Nice to have a local guy around as twisted as me! I live in Inman, but work at GE in Greenville. I had my drive shaft made at Carolina Driveline off of Howard street, near Hearon circle. Actually they have made a few for me over the years.
I had the headers coated at Millennium Performance Coating in Simpsonville. He does good work.I plan on getting him to coat all of my turbo tubing when I get done.

The truck oil pan will fit , but it hangs freaking low like knievel said. There is no way I would run one.

dj you seem to be quite the inspiration, i just picked up a 90 4cyl coupe roller with an 8.8 the other to start my ls1 swap. I'm starting with a bare block. going to use stock crank and order rods an pistons, have a set of lingenfelter z06 heads that are very nice to go on it. going to run a carb setup and spray just not sure how much yet. depends on what it does on motor. Ive been looking for the motor mounts, i want solid mounts and wasnt sure if the AJE K-member and ls1 mounts they sell with it are all ill need. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nice I live about 30 miles north of you In Hendersonville NC(boring!!) I am VERY slowly doing a 5.3 TT in my notch.

I find it funny cause I live right up the street from our GE plant.

ls1fst98 - Thanks for the kind words. I wish I could open my own business doing these swaps....lol
The AJE mounts are not solid. It's basically a 1 1/2" tube with poly bushings and a bolt running through it. There is barely any movement though. (see pic below)

slofox- I have a couple friends at work that transferred from there. If you need anything , give me a shout.

Yes,both will come out the bottom. You only have to remove the steering shaft. The drivers side is kinda tight, but it will come out.

looks good. thanks for the pic and if you ever did the install business yould have me waiting at your door for the install...from all ive seen you do amazing work. i hope mine comes out half as clean and nice looking. im still debating on the distributor kit or coil packs. I think the distributor would be a nice touch to throw off some people since mine will have a carb.

I'm actually going to start a swap for a guy next week. He is wanting to do a LS1/Th350 with a single turbo. It's just hard for me to do it on the side working the hours I do.

i totally understand that one. im going carbed and nitrous, with a th350 to upgrade to a glide later, hoping it will fit under the stock hood too. may build a turbo 5.3 later on since i can get one cheap.
