Can someone give me a measurment from the back of the block to the end of the balencer.
I need to make sure it will fit in my project before I ask alot of dumb new guy questions.

I have one sitting on my engine stand right now. Do you really want that distance or do you want it to the front of the water pump, which sticks out significantly further than the balancer?

Hey I see you found the site hope you don't think I was being a smart *ss over on PFF. I was just kidding around. Keep in mind a y-body ballancer is 3/4" shorter than an f-body. ASP (ASP941020 for the vett pulley) also makes one much smaller in diameter than the stocker which is pretty big. Keep in mind too that the thermostat housing sticks out on the passenger side of the block and hits the strut tower of the car I think you are considering. Mine is in the car so it would be a little harder to measure, but if he can't for any rerason just let me know. The center shaft sticks out the most on an LS1 waterpump ( about 7") from it's mounting surface on the engine.

Go to jmX's site: http://www.ls1howto.com/

Check the bottom of the "infopics" section and you'll see the fbody/ybody pulley comparison.

I just measured it to the best of my abilities and I came up with 25 3/8" from the back of the block to the front of the F-Body Balancer. Add 2 more inches (27 3/8") to the front of the center shaft on the water pump. These should be good + or - 1/4" (I think they are spot on, but just to give myself an out if they are not EXACTLY right.)
