Its hard to say exactly. We are going to have it sent out to be made overseas since it will considerably lower the cost. We move a lot of hoods and it is a bit smaller but it will be 4 parts though and require a brake light. It will be a trunk lid, spoiler and the 2 canards (for lack of a better term)
If I had to guess I would think about $750 or so.

There are still a few challenges to overcome. I mounted the trunk lid today. Its one of those it is going to get worse before it gets better deals. It looks nasty but I got the bolts in and the struts mounted (they will sit up in the spoiler). There are structural issues to deal with next, but that will be taken care of with the fiberglass. I also started work on the canard (guess that will be the term for easy reference). I used a cutoff peice from the spoiler and I formed some metal into the approx. shape and the fiber glass is drying. I will finish the detail work on it with body filler. It also poses a new challenga as there are 2 screws on the back of it. and the outer one will be in the way of the new canard unless the spoiler is widened or it get ground off. More on that later.
The mounting location needs to be shimed and I sanded the top so it is ready for fiberglass now.
I know this has been a long time coming so I hope everyone is happy to see the progress albeit slow. pics from today.

Well I got more work done on it this weekend. Nothing too interesting though. I took off the temporary strut mounts I made and started fabricating permanent ones. I need to make a mount that will sit up into the wing. Below is the picture of the canard I fabricated.
Looks like it will take 2 more days of work to get the mounts shimmed and reinforce the underside before it will be ready for fiberglass. I will knock them out on Valentines weekend.
It looks like a mess now, but the final product will look fine.

I'm very interested, I've been waiting eight years for someone to design a new hatch for the verts.
I'm unable to see the pics, something about an error on the page.
Anyways I'm sure I'll want one.

haha, ya it seems like it has been forever. I got a lot more work done this weekend. I will be turning the project over to the fiberglass guy to finish it now. couple of more months and the prototype will be done and I will have a mold from which production can begin.
This will be available this year.
