Default Quick question on cost

How much does a new convertible top plus installation cost? Just an average would be great.

Thanks a lot!

I paid $800 total, that included the top and installation. It was installed by the dealer when I first bought the car so I don't know what the break down of the cost was between the top and the labor.

Thanks, that's kind of what I figured...maybe a body shop would do it cheaper than a dealer. It's been 10 years and 41k miles...it's about time to replace it I guess.

Mine cost about $450 for the top and back glass shiped from ebay and then I found a place in Austin TX that installed it for $250. Total cost $700. I think this is a little below average because $250 to install it was the lowest out of about 8 shops I checked with. Some wanted over a grand just for labor. I think the average price would be around $1000 for parts and labor.

Just noticed you're in Dallas. I can get you the shop in austin's name if you want. They did amazing work and they were super cheap. It would be worth the drive.

Wow...seems like a lot but the place in Austin sounds like a good deal. How long does it take to install? I can't just drive down there and wait 2 days for install. I'd rather spend more $$ and save myself the time.

If you need a top, check this one out: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/94-02...mZ380119292660

That's where I bought mine.

for the most part, the top looks ok but the glass is seperating from the canvas...it has stains that I cannot get rid of though so I figure it's time for a new one.

When my window started separating from the top it fell out shortly thereafter, so I would guess your top is very short on it's remaining life based on what mine did.

I paid $1,300 for a black stayfast top with glass window installed. $700 is a smoking deal, I had a number of quotes but none less than the 1,300 I paid. When I do the top on my olds I am going to try to do it myself and see how that goes.
